I re-enabled weather 6.5 hours ago. No problems so far. I just enabled more
features (wind speed and such). Tomorrow I'll go to US customary units.

[marble] [Bug 370263] Gpx files open but nothing is displayed

2017-08-17 Thread Tom Hardy
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=370263

--- Comment #18 from Tom Hardy <rhardy...@gmail.com> ---
Note that the list of files shown on the files tab will list and allow you to
delete your gpx files. It will also dis/enable the display of all or part of
each one.

I, too, have the thin white line since about 16.08. IIRC, KML's disappeared
with about 16.12, but I'll have to look carefully at current status before I
report.

In the meantime, with Zones.1.1.gpx loaded, which contains only routes,
subsequent tracks are shown as routes also. (6px dark blue line)

I would like to point out that notification are already configurable on a per
application basis in that you can show a popup message or not, play a sound or
not, etc., or run a script that can presumably use a different notification
system. ;)

On further thought, I don't see a problem with treating notifications more like
syslog entries; keep 'em all around for a year or whatever. Then, the
notification UI would be a matter of what to display and how to display it.
You could have defaults, application developers could express a preference, but
the user could pull up counts on all their unique "Now Playing" entries, etc.

Syslog facilities could be directly involved, or maybe akonadi would be a
better choice.

Just tried 'notify-send -t 0 hello world'. Yay, my first persistent
notification. Or was it? It was gone when I looked a little later. Is that
expected or reasonable behavior?

[ doubled from https://github.com/blue-systems/plasma-5.4/issues/48 ]

This one needs my two cents, since I've spent a couple hours looking into it
and reading this forum.

I often notice a pop-up with buttons on it, just as it disappears. Was it
important? I can't say, but apparently the developer didn't think so. Can I
refer to the application for a clue? No, because I have no idea what it was
about or what application produced it. This is annoying.

Meanwhile I have yet to see a persistent notification after a year with KF5.
The systray notification icon is apparently there to take up space and get me
to spend time looking into the apparent problem.

This could use a little work.

[marble] [Bug 371010] Position Marker is gone/invisible

--- Comment #1 from Tom Hardy <rhardy...@gmail.com> ---
I just noticed the position marker is visible at zoom levels 5 and below. It
is also visible at zoom level 6 if positioned well below the crosshairs; that
is, below about the 3/8th of the screen height.

[marble] [Bug 371010] New: Position Marker is gone/invisible

2016-10-17 Thread Tom Hardy via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=371010

Bug ID: 371010
   Summary: Position Marker is gone/invisible
   Product: marble
   Version: 2.0 (KDE Applications 16.08)
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: marble-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: rhardy...@gmail.com

The summary pretty much says it. I don't have a position marker using Marble
2.01 from Suse Tumbleweed rpm's, plasma 5.8.0, frameworks 5.26.0, QT 5.7.0.

This situation has obtained for a couple of months of relatively frequent
Tumbleweed updates identified this way...

2016-07-28 15:57:23|install|marble-kde|16.04.3-1.1|x86_64|
2016-08-10 21:57:20|install|marble-kde|16.04.3-2.1|x86_64|
2016-09-03 10:11:38|install|marble-kde|16.08.0-1.1|x86_64|
2016-09-09 19:22:44|install|marble-kde|16.08.0-1.2|x86_64|
2016-09-16 15:57:36|install|marble-kde|16.08.1-1.1|x86_64|
2016-10-12 23:10:56|install|marble-kde|16.08.1-1.2|x86_64|

It possibly started with 16.08.

Possible relevance--I am getting gps from an Android phone using application
'GPS2NET',
and on the Linux box,' adb forward tcp:6000 tcp:6000', followed by 'gpsd -n
tcp://localhost:6000'.
xgps doesn't show a satellite selected, and doesn't show EPX, EPY, EPS, EPD.
The lack isn't new, though.

Emitted sentences: GPGSA, GNGSA, BDGSA, GPRMC, GPGSV, GLGSV, GPGGA, GPVTG,
GNGNS

That's all for now. Can anyone confirm the lack of a position marker?

Reproducible: Always

By the way, tracks became narrow white lines, practically invisible, at the
same time. Is that expected? Invisible lines aren't very useful.

Still there using version 1.12.20 (1.13 development version) under frameworks.

Can anyone either confirm or give it worksforme?
