Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create table in Libreoffice calc
2. Copy it and paste to composer


Actual Results:  
It will be pasted as Inline image or as attachment

Expected Results:  
New HTML table is created

It worked with old version of libreoffice and kmail. So for me it looks like
regression. Ok let it be new feature :)

I can confirm what Gunter said for the same versions of Calc and KMail.
What I expect: instead of PNG insert HTML

The same problem on kmail 5.1.3 from kdepim 15.12.3 (kubuntu 16.04)

couldn't create slave: "Unable to create io-slave:\nklauncher said: Unknown
protocol 'cid'.\n"
