I'm filing this bug so that KDE/Kdenlive website administrators can complete this form and mark the download as safe. For certain Microsoft enterprise users (such as those using a work laptop), the standalone is the only way to use Kdenlive. *** STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Go to Kdenlive download page using MS Edge 2. [kdenlive] [Bug 447672] Failed to filter source error in Motion Tracker DaSIAM algorithm (v 22.03.70 (rev. 1802d253b))
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=447672 --- Comment #18 from candideu --- (In reply to emohr from comment #17) > So you are saying “libmltjack.dll” was missing or was an old version? "libmltjack.dll" was a file from an old version, from like 2021. The mlt folder I had on my PC had about 25 or so files, while the new standalone's mlt file had 20 or so. So, there were definitely other stragglers. I'm not sure if there's a way to make it so that Windows installer can automatically detect the presence of an existing kdenlive folder and delete it before installing the new version, or prompt the user to uninstall it. If so, that would likely save a lot of headaches. Like I said, this fix solved my rendering crash as well, and may be tied to other mlt errors. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kdenlive] [Bug 447672] Failed to filter source error in Motion Tracker DaSIAM algorithm (v 22.03.70 (rev. 1802d253b))
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=447672 --- Comment #15 from candideu --- Hi folks! I was able to fix this issue on Windows by manually deleting all my Kdenlive folders (so the the ones in C: Program Files, App Data Local, and App Data Roaming). I then did a fresh reinstall, and the DaSIAM model works. It appears that there were some old, lingering files in the C:\Program Files\kdenlive\lib\mlt that were causing issues. The clue was in the "C:\Program Files\kdenlive\lib\mlt\libmltjack.dll": The specified module could not be found" error message, I figured this out by downloading the standalone, comparing the lib/mlt with the version I had installed, and testing out the Motion Tracker. Doing this also fixed the persistent rendering crash I've had since 2020 (once again tied to that libmltjack.dll file). I also tested the other algorithms with a clip that was 23.98 fps in a 29.97 fps timeline, and they all work perfectly now. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kdenlive] [Bug 449887] New: FEATURE REQUEST: Export Guides as Chapters for YouTube, Handbrake, etc.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=449887 Bug ID: 449887 Summary: FEATURE REQUEST: Export Guides as Chapters for YouTube, Handbrake, etc. Product: kdenlive Version: 21.12.2 Platform: Other OS: Microsoft Windows Status: REPORTED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: Video Display & Export Assignee: j...@kdenlive.org Reporter: cuyan...@uottawa.ca Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY *** YouTube chapters allow video creators to break their videos into sections. This helps with watch times and SEO (more on chapters here : https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/9884579?hl=en). The format of video chapters can take on different forms, so long as they start with 00:00 and indicate the title of the chapter. Example 1: 1. Intro 0:00-1:08 2. Break it off 1:09-2:45 3. Cable of love 2:45-4:38 4. Flowers 4:39-5:50 Example 2: 00:00 - 00:34 | Intro 00:34 - 01:41 | Downloading the shared library file and importing to Penpot 01:41 - 02:24 | Quick overview of library file 02:24 - 03:22 | Importing the avataaars shared library in a Penpot file 03:22 - 04:04 | Overview of components Typically, when I create chapters, I rely on the Guides that I created in Kdenlive and manually enter them in. That said, it would be great if there was an option in Kdenlive to automatically export chapters for YouTube. This could be done using the name of the guides as chapter titles and using the space between two guides as the duration, OR chapters could be created using the timeline's in-and-out points (similar to how you can save Timeline Zones in the Project Bin). ADDITIONAL INFORMATION *** In their 21.12 release, Shotcut introduced the chapters export in the format used to make chapters for YouTube: https://www.shotcut.org/blog/new-release-211221/ It is also possible to import and export chapter markers on Handbrake. Handbrake accepts chapter markers in .csv, .txt, .xml, and .tsv. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=425274 --- Comment #3 from candideu --- (In reply to Julius Künzel from comment #2) > The "create region" is going to be removed in MLT 7, but there is a > replacement that maybe needs another workflow and that we need to implement. > I am going to close this as MOVED because we track the progress on the issue > mentioned above. [kdenlive] [Bug 434215] Providing a better way to preview LUTs
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=434215 --- Comment #2 from candideu --- (In reply to Julius Künzel from comment #1) > Thanks for your feedback! I am glad to tell you that the LUT workflow had > been already improved a few weeks ago. The improvement is going to be in > 21.04 (release in April 2021). You can already test the improvements with > the daily build (download it from the bottom of the download page > https://kdenlive.org/en/download/) > > Please let us know if this is what you need or if you have further > improvement suggestions. Thank you for your reply, Julius! I tried the daily build, and I really like this improvement. I'm able to scroll through the different LUTs in a given folder with my mouse, which is a big improvement from what I described in the bug report. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kdenlive] [Bug 434215] New: Providing a better way to preview LUTs
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=434215 Bug ID: 434215 Summary: Providing a better way to preview LUTs Product: kdenlive Version: 20.12.2 Platform: Other OS: Microsoft Windows Status: REPORTED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: Effects & Transitions Assignee: vpi...@kde.org Reporter: cuyan...@uottawa.ca Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY I've downloaded quite a few free Look-Up Tables (LUTs) for colour grading, and would love to have a better way of previewing them all and saving my favourite ones. STEPS TO REPRODUCE As of now, if you open a new project file, drop in a video file, add the effect "Apply LUT", go to the Effect/Composition Stack, click on the folder beside "LUT file to apply", and select a .cube, .3dl, .dat, or .m3d LUT file, you'll see how the LUT looks on the clip. However, if you want to preview another look, you have to click on the folder icon again, select another one, and see it that way. If you have dozens of LUTs, previewing them all can be quite tedious, as opposed to being able to see them all at once without having the repetitive clicking. [kdenlive] [Bug 433936] New: Feature Requests: Jump to next/previous cut, Ripple Edit, Trim one frame at a time, Adjustment Layers, Extend Edit, Opening multiple sequences
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=433936 Bug ID: 433936 Summary: Feature Requests: Jump to next/previous cut, Ripple Edit, Trim one frame at a time, Adjustment Layers, Extend Edit, Opening multiple sequences Product: kdenlive Version: 20.12.2 Platform: Other OS: Microsoft Windows Status: REPORTED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: User Interface Assignee: j...@kdenlive.org Reporter: cuyan...@uottawa.ca Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY I've been using Kdenlive for a few years now and recently used Premiere again for my job. I still love Kdenlive, but I think there are a few features that Kdenlive could benefit from to make video editing more efficient. If these features already exist, please let me know! JUMP TO NEXT/PREVIOUS CUT In Premiere, you can use the up and down arrow keys to quickly move the playhead to the next cut/beginning of the next clip. Here is an example: https://youtu.be/q_hqU-BidM0?t=78. RIPPLE EDIT This allows you to shorten or extend the beginning or end of a clip while moving the following clips with it. This would save users from having to trim clips and then use the Spacer tool by combining the two actions together. On Premiere, it's called the Ripple Edit Tool. Here is an example: https://youtu.be/iGQ6GYDlqGY?t=92. It would also be great if the ripple edits could be done one frame at a time using the arrow keys. ADJUSTMENT LAYERS In Premiere, Adjustment Layers are like transparent clips that can be placed on the timeline. When you add effects to this Adjustment Layer, the effects are automatically applied to all the clips below it in the timeline. The nice thing about Adjustment Layers is that you can easily apply a series of effects to multiple clips. Also, if you are stuck between two looks, you can create different Adjustment layers, and easily try them them out on your clips without having to go in and manually delete the effects from each of your clips. Using this would be a lot faster and more precise than saving effect stacks or applying master effects to an entire track. More on that here: https://motionarray.com/learn/premiere-pro/premiere-pro-adjustment-layer/ EXTEND EDIT This extends an edit to the playhead. In Premiere, this is done by pressing "E". More on that here: https://premiereprotricks.com/extend-edit-keyboard-shortcut-in-adobe-premiere-pro/ OPENING MULTIPLE SEQUENCES I believe this has been asked before, but it would be great if we could open more than one project at a time in Kdenlive, and access them all through tabs. I love that we can import existing projects into the Project bin, but I think that being able to open multiple project within Kdenlive could be handy. [kdenlive] [Bug 423816] Rendering Crash for MP4 (H264/AAC), library error
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=423816 --- Comment #2 from candideu --- (In reply to emohr from comment #1) > Please untick "parallel processing" in the render setting and try again. That worked, thank you! -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kdenlive] [Bug 423816] New: Rendering Crash for MP4 (H264/AAC), library error
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=423816 Bug ID: 423816 Summary: Rendering Crash for MP4 (H264/AAC), library error Product: kdenlive Version: 20.04.1 Platform: MS Windows OS: Microsoft Windows Status: REPORTED Severity: crash Priority: NOR Component: Video Display & Export Assignee: j...@kdenlive.org Reporter: cuyan...@uottawa.ca Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 129856 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=129856=edit Log of rendering crashes SUMMARY I tried rendering/exporting a 2h long video made from clips that I copy-pasted from other Kdenlive projects (because adding clips from the Library doesn't work; I get the error "Cannot open file"). I selected MP4 (H264/AAC) as my rendering settings, medium-high quality, and I didn't touch anything else. The video would render until the last minute and then would crash. I tried again with different quality settings and the same thing would happen. (see attachment for crash 1 log) I then wondered if it had to do with the fact that I used pasted clips, so I made an archive of the project, unzipped the archive, and tried exporting it again. Same results. (see attachment for crash 2 log) I finally exported the project as WebM, and that worked but took twice as long as MP4. I'm not sure how to reproduce the rendering error, but here are steps to reproduce the library error: STEPS TO REPRODUCE - Library error 1. Create a Title clip 2. Add to library 3. Open a new project 4. Try to insert the Title Clip Library file into the project 5. Should get error saying "Cannot open file C:Users/username/AppData/Roaming/kdenlive/library/title.mlt" SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: 10 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
