[Discover] [Bug 438486] New: Software Updates notifications stay on the screen.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=438486 Bug ID: 438486 Summary: Software Updates notifications stay on the screen. Product: Discover Version: 5.21.5 Platform: openSUSE RPMs OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: PackageKit Assignee: lei...@leinir.dk Reporter: j...@ganomi.com CC: aleix...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY Software Updates notifications stay on the screen and they can grow to larger number. These notifications (which stay on the screen) are the most annoying feature in Linux desktop today. I am constantly forced to get rid of these notifications several times a day. Please get rid of it. Use standard notification which disappear after some time. Regarding the error on the screenshot, I allowed the unverified signature in zypper, but packagekit cannot handle it. Zypper is not giving me any errors, packagekit does. It is wrong that the system uses two different platforms for updates and they are not aware of each other. This results into bad user experience! STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Just use updates. Everytime update is available these notification will pop up and are glued to the screen. OBSERVED RESULT Notifications are glued to the screen. They don't disappear unless manually removed. EXPECTED RESULT Use normal notifications which disappear after few seconds. [plasma-nm] [Bug 435981] New: VPN connections are mixed with unregistered WIFI connections - VPN connection changes its position in the list
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=435981 Bug ID: 435981 Summary: VPN connections are mixed with unregistered WIFI connections - VPN connection changes its position in the list Product: plasma-nm Version: 5.21.4 Platform: openSUSE RPMs OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: applet Assignee: jgrul...@redhat.com Reporter: j...@ganomi.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY VPN connections are mixed with unregistered WIFI networks. When I want to connect to a VPN connection, I often miss-click on unregistered WIFI connection, because when I open the applet, WIFI starts scanning and adds new unregistered connections to the list on top of my registered VPN connections. This can happen in a split of a second and results in miss-clicks. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Add VPN networks to your network connections. 2. Ensure that there are more unregistered WIFI connections in your area. 3. To initiate VPN, click on network applet in System Tray 4. When network applet opens, you might see that unregistered WIFIs and VPN connections starts to reshuffle in the list of connections (depends on the WIFI SSID naming) 5. If you want to connect to your VPN connection and reshuffling starts at the same time, you might accidentally click on unregistered WIFI rather than the VPN connection, because the VPN connection changes its position in the list. OBSERVED RESULT VPNs and unregistered WIFI connections are mixed together which can result in miss-clicks when WIFI connections are being updated. EXPECTED RESULT VPN connections should have its own section to avoid reshuffling when WIFI networks are updated. [KScreen] [Bug 415952] New: Display Manager layout is not ideal
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=415952 Bug ID: 415952 Summary: Display Manager layout is not ideal Product: KScreen Version: 5.14.5 Platform: Debian unstable OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: common Assignee: kscreen-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: j...@ganomi.com Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 124950 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=124950=edit display layout SUMMARY The currently layout in Display application is not ideal. Few suggestions for improvement. 1. When I open Display app, all my displays are cramped in a small window. I have to resize the window to able to manage the screens. See screenshot. I would prefer if the window size is adjusted to the content and show the screens logically in the window. 2. It is very challenging to work with screens especially when using notebook. For example handling screens in XFCE is much easier, because they have predefined options. Lets assume that people have notebook and one or two external screens. I would prefer to have one click options to select between: - notebook + all external screens enabled (extended left or right / unify) - only external enabled (extended left of right / unify) - only notebook enabled 3. Enabling and disabling screens requires two clicks: a. select screen b. enable disable checkbox The checkbox to enable or disable screen should part of the graphical representation of the screen, that I can just click once. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
