[kdevelop] [Bug 411747] New: UI keeps freezing

2019-09-09 Thread rgoomes
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=411747

Bug ID: 411747
   Summary: UI keeps freezing
   Product: kdevelop
   Version: 5.4.2
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: critical
  Priority: NOR
 Component: UI: general
  Assignee: kdevelop-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: ricardo@hotmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Application: kdevelop (5.4.2)

Qt Version: 5.12.3
Frameworks Version: 5.61.0
Operating System: Linux 5.0.0-27-generic x86_64
Distribution: KDE neon User Edition 5.16

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:
Absolutely nothing.. KDevelop was minimized. I clicked to focus KDevelop and
the UI was unresponsive. I've reported this bug countless of times. This is the
first one: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=401450 ; I had no feedback
since then. Please, very please check the backtrace (I had to cut it because it
was too long ‒ but you can get the picture, that is, the jump from #100 to
#5801 ‒ there is a bug somewhere for sure). Thanks

SUMMARY
After some time of indexing my project KDevelop crashes with segfault. I've
attached the gdb backtrace, seems that KDevelop is in loop. Please check the
trace.

[kdevelop] [Bug 410731] New: UI freezes multiple times

2019-08-08 Thread rgoomes

Bug ID: 410731
   Summary: UI freezes multiple times
   Product: kdevelop
   Version: 5.4.0
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED

  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=122016=edit
stacktrace

SUMMARY
I'm working on a relatively big project (approximately 2000 source .cpp files)
and I have to kill KDevelop multiple times in the same day due to UI freezes
(most of the times the freeze lasts forever). I have attached the stacktrace
when this happens. It is always the same trace (KDirWatchPrivate::useFAM). The
stacktrace was forced by sending SIGBUS signal to KDevelop. Please take a look
at the trace. Is there something that I can do as an workaround? maybe
disabling a plugin?

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
Happens randomly.

OBSERVED RESULT
UI is completely frozen. Force kill is required.

EXPECTED RESULT
The UI does not freeze.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
There is already a similar bug report in
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=401450 (stacktraces are very similar). I
myself reported it. I think this was also happening prior to KDevelop 5.3.0

sorry for the bug report. just received the new kdevelop packages in neon,
everything is working fine again. please close the issue

[kdevelop] [Bug 401450] New: KDevelop hangs when opened (stacktrace attached)

2018-11-26 Thread rgoomes
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=401450

Bug ID: 401450
Summary: KDevelop hangs when opened (stacktrace attached)
   Product: kdevelop
   Version: 5.3.0
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Keywords: drkonqi
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdevelop-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: ricardo@hotmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Application: kdevelop (5.3.0)

Qt Version: 5.11.2
Frameworks Version: 5.52.0
Operating System: Linux 4.15.0-39-generic x86_64
Distribution: KDE neon User Edition 5.14

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed: The crash was forced with
SIGBUS to check the stacktrace. The UI is unresponsive for more than 1 minute
and there is no sign of CPU nor IO usage in KSysGuard. The stack of Thread 1 is
strange, something about fam but I don't have it installed and why the
nanosleep. Also, clicking clear cache in the window that appears after opening
KDevelop fixes the problem. This window shows because I forced a crash in the
first time I replicated this problem.

This problem happens sometimes but I can replicate it always everytime I reach
this kind of state in KDevelop or until I clear the cache.

The crash can be reproduced sometimes.

I'm not able to reproduce the crash anymore. I think you can mark this as
RESOLVED / FIXED.

I have both LLVM 5.0 and 6.0 versions installed and the default is the LLVM
6.0. I need LLVM 5.0 because some package depends on it and so I can't
uninstall it. I think it should be up to KDevelop to choose the newest LLVM
