Bug ID: 449746
   Summary: [UE] Annotation - Improve Spectacle user experience
   Product: Spectacle
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: General
  Assignee: m...@baloneygeek.com
  Reporter: kde-b...@cixera.com
CC: k...@david-redondo.de
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

Please improve annotation behavior and tool settings for better user
experience.

1. The default tools settings like e.g. "object shadow" is on by default.
Please don't make it default.

2. Changed tool settings by users are not automatically saved for next session.
They reset to quite "strange" defaults each time the user starts Spectacle.
Please keep user's tool setting changes for next session.

3. When UNDO (Ctrl+U) is pressed and tools like "number with arrow" was removed
the "number counter" (top/toolbar) does not decrease back.

4. Please "Effects" toolbar in tool sidebar.

5. Please join "Zoom" toolbar into top "object settings" toolbar.

6. The "object settings" toolbar top/bottom margin is too big.

7. Please automatically remove "The screenshot has been copied to clipboard"
notification after some eg. 10s automatically.

8. Resize annotation inner window to taken screenshot size when starting
annotation editor and save last manually set window size for next session, too.

Thanks for this great tool.

Are there any other configs or libs related to KDE applications language
switching? Afaik, those settings I provided should work just fine. I wonder
which other external dependencies do matter to language switching code.

The content of `/etc/locale.gen` is:

de_DE.UTF-8 UTF-8
de_DE ISO-8859-1
de_DE@euro ISO-8859-15
en_US.UTF-8 UTF-8
en_US ISO-8859-1

> Settings, what is listed for Languages?

In `Regional Settings / Language` it is (in that order):

1. Deutsch (default)
2. American English

(In reply to Jack from comment #9)
> What happens after you click OK on the dialog shown in the attachment of

> restarting KMyMoney.

Yes, I get this message, "The language for this application has been changed.
The change will take effect the next time the application is started.", too.

Additionally, I tried to change the default language order in Plasma settings
"Regional Settings / Language / ..." but this has no effect for Plasma's
desktop language, too. While I noticed some applications are now in "German"
like KeePassXC - Version 2.6.6
Revision: 9c108b9, while Dolphin or most of the other applications stay
English.

I suspect, something with language/locale settings is interfering with Plasma's
"Regional" settings or not in this case. Entering `locale` in Konsole prints:

```
$ locale
LANG=de_DE.UTF-8
LC_CTYPE="C"
LC_NUMERIC="C"
LC_TIME="C"
LC_COLLATE="C"
LC_MONETARY="C"
LC_MESSAGES="C"
LC_PAPER="C"
LC_NAME="C"
LC_ADDRESS="C"
LC_TELEPHONE="C"
LC_MEASUREMENT="C"
LC_IDENTIFICATION="C"
LC_ALL=C
```

and `~/.config/plasma-localerc` shows

```
$ cat ~/.config/plasma-localerc
[Formats]
LANG=de_DE.UTF-8
LC_MESSAGES=en_US.UTF-8
[Translations]
LANGUAGE=de:en_US
```

[dolphin] [Bug 446930] New: Several external (LUKS) devices issues with "Removable Devices" system settings on login

2021-12-13 Thread t-ask
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=446930

Bug ID: 446930
   Summary: Several external (LUKS) devices issues with "Removable
Devices" system settings on login
   Product: dolphin
   Version: 21.12.0
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: dolphin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: kde-b...@cixera.com
CC: kfm-de...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
I have more than 10 external USB 3.0 LUKS encrypted devices connected to

1. After using the system for months, I have a ton (> 600) of empty devices
listed in the "Disconnected Devices" list. I had to remove them one by one,
which took 10 minutes. The "Forget Device" button alone is not practicable in
this case. Adding a "Remove Old Devcies" button might help, e.g.

2. On every login, I had to type the authentication password (sudo) for not all
but several devices which Plasma tried to reconnect on login. Strangely, I had
to type the authentication password only 4 times while there were more LUKS
encrypted devices were reconnected. It seems like `sddm` password is not
recognized for all LUKS devices. Additionally, still then, I had to remount
manually other external USB devices via Dolphin "Devices" panel each time.
Really tiresome task on every login to retype sudo passwords, remount manually
removable LUKS devices each time.

3. Encrypted and their unencrypted labels are both listed in
"Attached/Disconnected Devices". It's not clear which ones to click for `On
login` and `on attach` settings.

4. Dolphin does not list UUIDs or labels of devices, which makes it difficult
to distinguish between not already unencrypted LUKS devices before mounting
them

5. Now, after manually removing each disconnected device from the list,
rebooting the system, Dolphin things half of the devices are "Disconnected
Devices" even if all devices are listed in `lsblk` list as expected.

It feels like the provided "global options" in "Removable Devices" system
settings on the top are confusing and maybe technically don't work as expected.
One thing I wonder, why are is the devices list greyed out instead of emptying
the list completely if e.g. "Automatically mount all ..." options are selected?

EXPECTED RESULT

I expect that I don't have to retype the sudo password on each login for some
or all removable devices after having confirmed to store their passwords once
(authenticated via sddm e.g.).

Also all devices in `lsblk` should be listed in Dolphin's "Devices" list in the
left panel.

Additionally, I only need the LUKS device labels in those lists not two entries
for each device like "ExternalHD1" + "1.4 TiB Encrypted Device" in "Removable
Devices" lists, too.

I expect, that connected devices (lsblk) don't split up in different "Removable
Devices" lists like "Attached Devices" and "Disconnected Devices" even if they
are all connected to the system.

PS: I wonder, why are devices greyed out instead of emptying the list
completely if e.g. "Automatically mount all ..." option is selected?

DE - I installed DE lang in "Regional Settings / Language" in Plasma as

There is a list of a lot of languages in the list (Settings/Configure
Language). It is just selecting any doesn't change the UI language.

Which `translation files` am I missing?

[frameworks-kconfigwidgets] [Bug 439033] KConfig's joystick/game controller calibration curve values wrong/choppy

2021-06-28 Thread t-ask
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=439033

--- Comment #2 from t-ask  ---
It seems it is not only the curve drawing, even the right hand analog values
stutter and button responses "stutter".

Maybe it is better to disable the panel until the bugs are solved as users
might think their devices are broken and wrongly send them back as "broken
device". Or add a warning that the shown values or buttons may not work.

kconfig's game device calibration curve

SUMMARY

It looks like the Plasma/Settings/InputDevices/GaemController section is
broken. The drawing of the calibration curve is not matching actual numbers
delivered by the controller (Thrustmaster 16000 Flight Stick here) The curve is
drawn choppy and skipping numbers.

I added one animated GIF of the kconfig widget (game controller) and one taken
with another joystick calibration tool `jstest-gtk` - works fine.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Test device curve drawing

OBSERVED RESULT

I added one animated GIF of the kconfig widget (game controller) and one taken
with another joystick calibration tool `jstest-gtk` - works fine - not
kconfig's.
