I feel maybe the sidebar needs a background change to adapt better, but overall the suggestion makes the sidebar look more in line with what we have in other apps and also it weirdly allows for highlighting the colors coming from the kcm to the right. And as Manuel points out, we already have pixel-optimized 22px color icons here. However it's true that in general we use monochrome icons for the 22px size.
