I'll try Nate
meanwhile, I forgot to mention, along with "cgicon:knsrc" -- all categories are
missing.
This helps?

If you can reproduce it, please attach a screen recording so we can see what's
happening. I like SimpleScreenRecorder for this purpose.

That's a separate issue. I have that too, but it's unrelated.

Are you able to reproduce the original issue, or did it only happen once?

Hi. I forgot to mention that when open Discovery a tiny window appears and
disappears rapidly that I have to open several times to write it:

cgicon:knsrc

Strange, no?

This helps?

Beyond what I described above, also occurs that: Different number of updates
are shown (perhaps Plasmoid is the name of the icon that alerts user that have
an update or more) and the number of packages in Discovery.
Thank you

[Discover] [Bug 387822] Don't make the updates

2017-12-15 Thread ruiamar
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=387822

"In this case" means that normally when the icon with a blue point in the
border appears, alerts me that the is an update of packages. I click on it and
a popup window appears and says how much packages and a bottom to execute the
updates. The it opens the "Discover" that shows what packages and a bottom to
execute the updates. And that's it always, and every thing goes fine. This time
don't and after I press the bottom to execute the update, every information of
the packages ready to update, disappeared.
Did this explanation enough for you?
Thank's a lot
Cheers

I think that he installed the upgrades in another software (apt/synaptic) and
it doesn't reflect on the plasmoid.

No need for editorializing, we're all friends here. :)

What is the actual problem? It's not clear to me. What do you mean by "In this
case, for some reason, the application doesn't do."

Are you saying that when you clicked on the "Install all" button in Discover,
the updates did not install? Or that they appeared to have been installed but
then the affected packages were gone from your system? Or something else?

I think you didn't understand what I wrote and you answer is not very kind. I'm
sorry, but I had to say. These kind of people (open source, Creative commons)
is different from capitalistic and consumerist people.

Of course I want to make these updates and do all that appeared. I did it
always.

In this case, for some reason, the application doesn't do. That's why I ask for
help and in the proper place I think. My distro is Kubuntu and the applications
remits to here, but if I'm in the wrong place, just tell me.

If some body want to really help, I thank you.

The update number in the Plasmoid not matching what the app shows is tracked by
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=385754

As Aleix says, you can hide the tray icon if you don't want to see it.

The other GUI package managers you tried to use couldn't work because Discover
was still running; only one process at a time is allowed to modify system
packages.

You can remove "Updates" from the system tray if you don't like it.
It should disappear when updates are installed though. You can contact your
distribution about it.
