The update to plasma 5.12 resolved the issue.

Thank you for reminding me about it.

@Elkasir - in KDE System Settings | Power Management there is now an option to
change the lid closing behavior when external screens are attached. Do you
still have this issue? If so, have you looked at that option?

Just got back from a trip.

Thank you for your response and taking the time to inform me. Please let me
know if anything is missing, as this was the first time i submitted a
bugreport.

My external monitor is connected via a thunderbolt dock to my laptop. I come
from Unity and there it's possible to close the lid of my laptop and then my
external monitor will become the primary monitor (and disables the laptop
screen in the process).

[KScreen] [Bug 380097] closing laptop lid also disables external display

2017-05-23 Thread Sebastian Kügler
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=380097

Thanks, Elkasir for the bugreport!

I can't reproduce this here. On my laptop, when connecting a monitor via HDMI
and closing the laptop's lid, the external monitor is available and works as
expected.

Can you please update this bugreport with the information as outlined here:
https://community.kde.org/Solid/Projects/ScreenManagement#Debugging_Information
?
