I would also find the new intended behavior very annoying. At least the first one sounds critical enough to warrant a revert for now, and personally I think the first one would also warrant raising the criticality. Even flashing in the 'taskbar' might not be suitable, because I may have changed folder/tabs after a long compression/extraction has completed. At the very least, an option to turn off any focus/attention grabbing feature would be appreciated. If the idea is to help the user return to the folder, instead of trying to bring the window into focus, the notification that reads "Compressing a file (Finished)" & "Extracting Files (Finished)" might be a better outlet. There's already a button for "Open Containing Folder" for the extraction, but there isn't one for the compression notification. Sorry for the confusion, this probably were two different bugs with similar symptoms, which results they both have been tracked here in one issue. One was fixed here, and the other one was that Dolphin is failing to exit properly when its last window is closed, which masks the fix. With 21.08.1, can you confirm that when you experience this bug, there was secretly a dolphin process still running in the background? If so, let's get a new bug report filed about that. It will need to be fixed separately.
