Hello Gilles and Maik,

after testing with DK 8 with an unmounted folder, I still can see both
descriptions and dates.
I would say this issue can be closed now.

Probably, the database considerate the collection are not available for a valid
workflow, as nothing is editable...

Hello Gilles,

Perhaps the selected category is wrong, I'm sorry: I'm talking about the left
part of the main digikam interface which show the directory tree and album
folder: properties are those one when we right click on one album.
