Bug ID: 407684 Summary: Wish: icon view (like thumbnails) & three column view for geolocation editor Product: digikam Version: 6.2.0 Platform: Appimage OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Geolocation-Editor Assignee: digikam-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: jens-bugs.kde....@spamfreemail.de Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 120160 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=120160&action=edit mockup geolocation editor with thumbnails view SUMMARY When sorting images into locations, filename and date are usually not as important as the actual content of the images. Currently, the tabular view in the geolocation editor wastes a lot of screen space. I would like to have the same (or at least a similar) view as the thumbnails view for the geolocation editor, with selected metadata being displayed below the thumbnails (or none at all). Maybe we can even reuse the thumbnails view altogether? Also, since most displays are 16:9 widescreen nowadays, IMHO it makes a lot of sense to offer at least one three-column view: map, images (icons or tabular) and tags tree beside each other.
