This ensures that you do not mix images from other albums. You can import your album onto the light table with CTRL + A and CTRL + L (for CTRL the corresponding key under MacOS) that is really fast. In case of need I could add more pictures by using your feature. I think this request is very doable. As Maik said, LightTable thumbbar is a pull of image to compare side by side. All image come from where you want not only from current album.
