You also have different metadata in the images and in the XMP files. digiKam can also handle the color labels with text, you just have to set that these tags should be read first. Otherwise I would recommend you to clean up and syncronize your metadata with digiKam. I don't see any bug in digiKam here, I'll close the bug. The Color label transfer probably can't work, because in one case the color is marked with a number and in another case with a word. In the advanced metadata settings, make sure that the tags for rating and label that are changed by the other program are at the top of the list. 2. You need to re-read the image metadata.
