This bug has been driving me crazy for the past few weeks. It's nice to see
that it USED to be the behavior for the configuration I had set.

PLEASE either fix it (so that individual tabs do not 'update' the behavior of
other tabs that are already open)
OR add a new mode

Currently === Settings -> Dolphin -> General -> Behavior (tab) has only two
view modes:

"Use common display style for all folders"
"Remember display style for each folder"

NEITHER captures my use case!!!

What I really want is the ability to set one DEFAULT style (and only manually
update that!) and then for

"Use common display style for all folders"
"Every tab retains it's own style" <<< what I want
"Remember display style for each folder"

For all _three_ choices there should be a distinct option as well:

View Style Default:
"As configured at compile time"
"As updated by view -> set as Default Style" (a new menu option in the view
lists)
"Remember the last view style modification as default"

This isolates what the setting is from when to apply the setting.
