Bug ID: 476877 Summary: Dolphin's panels cannot be dragged (back) to a side of the window that that borders the main content directly Classification: Applications Product: dolphin Version: 24.01.75 Platform: Neon OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: dolphin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: firlaevhans.fi...@protonmail.com CC: kfm-de...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 163073 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=163073&action=edit Screen recording of described issue SUMMARY When you unlock the panels in Dolphin, you can e. g. drag the information panel to a different side, but you won't be able to drag it back, because there's nothing to drag to as the main view (now that the frameless view is implemented) extends right up to the edge of the window. An exception to that is when the scrollbar is shown, you can drag panels to the right side. The same of course won't work for the left side because there's no scroll bar there. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Right click on one of the panels (e. g. places or information) 2. Try to drag it to a side of the window where the main content of dolphins window touches its borders OBSERVED RESULT As you can see in the video, I'm unable to drag the panel to a side that doesn't already have a panel, until I show hidden files, which makes the scroll bar show up. After that, I can drag the panel as expected. But if you happened to have moved all panels away from the left side, the only way to get them back there is to delete dolphins config files. EXPECTED RESULT Dragging any panel to any side of the window should allow the user to place the panel there, in all cases.
