Sure it does. As I already wrote: Regular Qt applications are not affected.

This bug report is about allow working with the appindicator-support Gnome
Shell extension.

As recent as two days ago there was a comment on the extension page saying that
Konversation is not working with it.

Exposing KSNI towards Gnome Shell with appindicator-support is important for
properly working KDE apps under Gnome.

There is nothing KDE can do about this, I'm afraid. The fault lies with GNOME
in deleting support for this UI element. We still support it in Plasma--and so
does everyone else. I would tell you to complain to them about it, but it's a
lost cause; their minds are not open to being changed about the wisdom of this
decision. I would recommend using Plasma instead of GNOME. :)
