Thanks for you concerns. I'd like to make a couple of points:

- You don't have to click on the thumbnail, clicking on the filename will also
view the image (your small thumbnail size is quite unusual, so this is a
compromise Gwenview had to make).

- At most there are 4 buttons: The first toggles the selection (i.e. if you
want to select multiple images at the same time, e.g. to move them to a
different folder), the second goes to fullscreen, and the two buttons on the
right rotate the image left and right.

- You can discover what the buttons do by clicking on them, or by looking at
actions in the menu with similar icons. We explicitly decided against showing
tooltips on the hover buttons, because they would get annoying with time.

You'll be pleased to know that for Gwenview 18.04 we did some changes:

- In the settings, you'll be able to turn off the buttons completely.

- The fullscreen button will switch to fullscreen view instead of switching to
fullscreen browse mode.
