This issue doesn't appear in the latest stable builds of 17.08 or the
time-refactoring builds, so I'm closing this bug. Nice work guys!

I just tried running the latest appimage (version 17.04.1b-x86_64), and the UI
seems to be showing just fine (tested on the same PC and set-up).

If anyone else can download and test the latest appimage (from
https://files.kde.org/kdenlive/release/Kdenlive-17.04.1b-x86_64.AppImage.mirrorlist)
while running proprietary Nvidia drivers and can confirm that this bug is no
longer present, I'll be happy to close it.

@alcinos, the graphics driver version is listed in the original post. I'm also
sure that I have openGL installed, though I'm not sure how to find the specific
version.

Hum weird OpenGL errors… Not sure if it comes from your distrib or the
packaging.

What kind of graphic driver do you have?
Can you check that openGl is installed?
