I also noticed a high CPU usage on idle in all Kdenlive AppImages. I was able to pinpoint it to the SDL/Alsa pipeline. Adding Pulseaudio to the AppImage build did fix the problem for me. I am uploading an updated AppImage (17.12.0b) that contains this fix. Can you test if this solves the CPU usage for you and if sound still works correctly ? https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=387846 skoupad-bugzi...@yahoo.com changed: What|Removed |Added CC||skoupad-bugzi...@yahoo.com --- Comment #3 from skoupad-bugzi...@yahoo.com --- Recently I had a similar problem that was related to a KDE bug. But this one I think is related to audio. Can you try this? When you see high CPU usage, go to: Settings > Playback > Audio Driver and change it to something else, like ALSA (It defaults to Automatic) and click Apply or OK. Does it stop High CPU usage? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=387846 --- Comment #2 from iGadget--- (In reply to iGadget from comment #1) > Just tested with 17.12.0 AppImage - same result. Apparently this was a pre-17.12.0 version. Tested again with the 'official' 17.12.0, but the problem remains. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
