What do you mean by “instruments panel“? The timeline toolbar?

Please try with the actual Kdenlive AppImage version 18.12.0b as well.
Run the Appimage from the terminal (press CTRL + ALT + T). Move to the AppImage
folder and run the .AppImage: ./Kdenlive*.AppImage

No. I'm add fades same way as all other effects. Only difference - i add button
for "fade in" and "fade out" on instruments panel.

Speed effect works not properly in the actual released versions. Will be
completely re-written in the refactoring version.

Have not really a work around. Do you hoover over the clip corner and use the
fade with this?
