Unexpected: Main window after 1st start of kmail and 1st imap account creation

I would expect, that when one selects a folder on the left, the message list
view and the mail message view are shown

Same with kmail 5.3 (neon dev stable):   

Reproduce:
fresh user, 1st kmail startup & 1st IMAP Accout setup ==>

No message view (and mail message view) is shown  (see screenshot) .

Changing folders does not help.

Workaround the 1st usage bug:  Menu: Go -> Next message  ==>
and the message list view and mail message view show up.
