I have been configured to use vim to compose mail messages in kmail for years. I notice that when I close the editor, the composer window is not updated with my edits. If I around to the composer window again, it now shows the editor session I just closed. Typing is not echoed in the Subject field. It is present and is displayed when you tab out of Subject or click somewhere else.
