            Bug ID: 419370
Summary: [regression] New tab does not create tab in a view
           Product: konsole
           Version: 19.12.3
          Platform: Kubuntu Packages
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: split-view
          Assignee: konsole-de...@kde.org
          Reporter: dima...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Today I upgraded to Kubuntu 20.04 (beta) and discovered that "New Tab" and
"Split View" features interaction has been drastically changed (looks like a
regression). The problem is that it has become impossible to open tab *in* a
view. On the contrary, I can only split views in different tabs.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open Konsole
2. Split view (View -> Split View -> Split view Top/Bottom)
3. Try to open a tab in the current view (File -> New Tab)

OBSERVED RESULT
New tab is opened, but there is no previously created views (in step 2),
instead it is just new completely blank space without the views I have create
at the second step.

EXPECTED RESULT
A new tab is opened in an *existing* view.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I will be happy to any workaround... The new behaviour makes me switch the
context/attention frequently.
