[krfb] [Bug 363217] VNC connection to KDE5 is not possible

2017-02-03 Thread Raf

This is a duplicate of Bug 218557 and Bug 356782

There is workaround posted by Alexey:
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=356782#c6
With this workaround krfb should work correctly and you can connect to VNC even
with active desktop effects.

Edit ~/.config/krfbrc

... and add the following lines:

[FrameBuffer]
preferredFrameBufferPlugin=qt

With Kubuntu 15.04 and 15.10 it was possible for a remote client to attach to
an existing desktop session using Krfb's "Unattended Access" and xrdp.

With the update to Kubuntu 16.04, there are no screen updates on the client
after login when using Krfb. The client only sees a static "snapshot" of the
desktop from ~3 hours ago.

krfb 4:15.12.3-0ubuntu1
plasma-desktop 4:5.6.4-0ubuntu1~ubuntu16.04~ppa3

Is there an easy way to gather Krfb logs?

I also confirm that if I run the server with x11vnc the remote session works
all right

I also have the problem. I can move the mouse, but nothing else works.

For example the remote person sees my mouse moving, but if I for example click
the clock at the right bottom, on my screen nothing happens. On the remote
screen the calendar pops up.

I tried then another vnc server on the remote side, then it worked.
