[krita] [Bug 359171] [WACOM] paint strokes with tablet less fluent than in 2.9.6

This would really appear to be an issue with the driver. I'm afraid there aren't anything to be done in Krita. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=359171 --- Comment #30 from Chris Jones--- Hi Alvin, In 3.3.3 there's no difference in the stroke start glitch when changing from WinTab to Pointer Input. When using the Dynamic Brush it's about on par with native Windows Ink apps that are built into Windows 10 though, which I assume means those apps are also dampening the effect with some kind of smoothing algorithm, and it's probably not going to get much better in Krita on Win 10 anyway. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=359171 --- Comment #28 from Chris Jones--- Hmm, not sure... as far as I know Windows Update takes care of driver updates on the Surface, and it's up to date in that respect. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=359171 Dmitry Kazakovchanged: What|Removed |Added Resolution|FIXED |--- Status|NEEDSINFO |CONFIRMED --- Comment #27 from Dmitry Kazakov --- It might be somehow related to the driver or the driver version... Probably, we should use Windows Ink for that... Is it possible to update a driver for your tablet-screen? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=359171 --- Comment #26 from Chris Jones--- Hi Dmitri, On the desktop the straight line "hook" at the start of a stroke is about the same as in my video attachment in Comment 22. However, I find that Sketchpad (built into Windows 10) as well as OneNote also display the same issue to about the same degree. Krita on the SP4 is also producing similar results as in the SP4 video, but without the double stroke start. Sketchpad and OneNote on the SP4 however do not show signs of the hook issue, so I'm not sure what to make of that. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=359171 Dmitry Kazakovchanged: What|Removed |Added Resolution|--- |FIXED Status|REOPENED|NEEDSINFO --- Comment #23 from Dmitry Kazakov --- Hi, Chris! I have just tested my tablet devices on Linux and Windows with OpenGL on and off and I still couldn't reproduce the problem. I have a feeling that the problem was related to a bug in Qt 5.6, where the tablet events got compressed accidentally. The bug was in a wild until we started to patch Qt, shipped with Krita. Now the bug should be gone. Could you please check if the bug is still actual for your hardware on Krita 3.1.3rc1? https://download.kde.org/unstable/krita/3.1.3-rc.1/krita-3.1.3-rc.2-x64.zip If you still can reproduce the bug, please reopen the bug. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=359171 --- Comment #22 from Chris Jones--- Created attachment 99307 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=99307=edit Stroke start glitches in krita-3.0-da5496d-x64 Hi Dmitry, Here are videos and logs of both my desktop PC and Surface Pro 4. An interesting new finding is that the Surface often produces a double-start to the stroke when OpenGL is enabled, along with a slight hook. Without OpenGL it just produces the hook. I've only noticed this now because normally I'm having to use the SP4 without OpenGL due to a stuttering issue (https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=360588), and it's possible this is exacerbating the problem and causing the double-strokes. My desktop also displays similar stuttering when using High Quality filtering (https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=331794), but doesn't produce double-strokes with other scaling modes or with OpenGL off though. Incidentally I've used CamStudio to record the videos and it's possible you'll need the CamStudioCodec to view them... let me know if you have playback problems and I'll try something else. Hope that helps! -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Could you please try the latest version from this link http://files.kde.org/krita/3/windows/devbuilds/krita-3.0-da5496d-x64.zip and, if the problem is still actual: 1) Activate Basic Smoothing 2) Activate tablet events logging 3) Start video recording your screen with some software Then try to reproduce the problem a couple of times I need the following data: 1) Video of the bug 2) Tablet log for this video -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
