Yes, I had deleted that part in the forum thread :)

However,

the "Move Tool (T) > Tool Options > Selection Modes", 2nd and 3rd options
(radio group) are not reliable in Krita version 4.2.0 and partially in 4.1.7.
They seem to work in version 3.3.3.

In my opinion their labels should also be more clear, like i.e.:

option 1: "move current layer"
option 2: "center layer at pointer click"
option 3: "move all (nested) layers"

I think that the main issue is: BUG 400484.
I'm going to mark this as a duplicate of it.

*** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 400484 ***

Thank you for those files. I've just tried both of them in the 4.1.7 and the
4.2.0 pre-alpha appimages and I used a pen throughout.

I had no problem using the Move tool in all three of its modes of operation and
I did some simple grouping which gave the results I expected based on my Reply
in the forum post you refer to in Comment 4.

The X:Y: position boxes also work with the up/down arrows and when typing into
the boxes.

This is a mystery and I have no idea what might be happening.

I'm sorry but we need more people to try this and report on what they find.

Please, see the attached zip file, it contains 2 kra files created with v4.1.7
and v4.2.0.

It was using the pen.

Using the 4.1.7 appimage and the Jan-18 build appimage (git 4f95062), I can't
duplicate these results and I find that the Move tool works. (It does have some
other unexpected behaviour which I can investigate further as a separate
issue.)

I used a fresh default set of configuration and resource files and I used a
mouse for all operations. I use Debian 9 (stable).

Can you attach or somehow make available your saved .kra file which shows these
problems?

Were you using a mouse or a pen to carry out the operations?
