Hi,

Banding is normal for linear 8bit, which is why gamma corrected spaces exist in
the first place. Why you aren't seeing it in photoshop is probably because
photoshop has some kind of dithering for it's brushes. In Krita such dithering
is only enabled for the color smudge brush engine and gradient tool.
Regardless, if you want to work in linear color, you should use a higher
bitdepth, as not only brushes but also filters, transforms and blending modes
are affected.
