Those are two different tools.

>From Edit - Compare Folders (Alt+Shift+C) you can compare a single level
directory, from the same menu you can set the selection policy.

>From Tools - Synchronize Folders (Ctrl+Y) you have a more powerful tool.

Dear Davide,

in an intzernet forum I found out that pressing Ctrl-Y led me to that 
window which then permits me to compare the directories.
Before that, just only Compare directorie does nothing.
Version I think ws 2-6-0?

What version of Krusader are you using? Do you have a custom colors
configuration? (Maybe some screenshot)

In both panels, you should have selected all the files that are not present in
the other panel, in the bottom bar you should see that some files are selected.
