As per discussion, this is not a bug. The Horizon color can be configured in
the Settings.

I couldn't find anywhere how to change the opaque ground color. It is always
bright green. And opaque.

I am not sure my comment went through.
The reason why the opaque horizon should not be completely opaque is when we
change the time forward it's nice to see what constellations will pop out of
the horizon
