Actually I need to reopen this:

Qt says invalid:

In KDE 3.5 it was resolved:

So is it now a problem with KDE or Qt? Both say it's not their problem.

The issue is about mouse behaviour in the context menu. From what I can see, I
can adjust (to some degree) the mouse behaviour in KDE. So this seems to be a
KDE issue and not a context menu one.

KWin is not responsible for context menus. That is done by the application
toolkits, e.g Qt or GTK.

Here's a screenshot of tmux:

Movement of 1px to the right before relasing the right mouse button is
sufficient to trigger the detach.

However, when I have konsole at the bottom of the screen, then "Close tab"
would be selected.
