[kwin] [Bug 457010] Some maximize states (e.g. vertical) not remembered when changing display configuration

I have the same issue. With some windows it is not easy to see that they "fall
off" the edge of the screen, so I end up having to blindly maximize them to
make sure. It's certainly an annoying bug if you use multiple displays of
different resolution.

The following video shows what I described in my previous comment:
https://ehubox.ehu.eus/s/CyFtcW2J4rYrncQ

Dolphin is maximized horizontally in the external monitor, then I switch to the
smaller resolution laptop screen, The dolphin window maintains its original
size, thus not fitting in the laptop screen. The window controls (minimize,
maximize, close) are out of reach!

I just started using Wayland as a daily driver, and noticed this immediately.
Just a few comments:

- This is not exclusive to vertically maximized windows. I can reproduce it
with dolphin, which I have maximized horizontally.

- In my opinion, this is MORE SEVERE than it seems. What I'm encountering is
the opposite situation to what the original report describes: I normally work
on a 1920x1080p external monitor, buy when I unplug it and switch to my
1366x768p laptop screen, maximized windows are actually larger than my screen.
Since this also happens with horizontally maximized windows (see previous
comment), the window controls are out of reach! I know I can double click on
the title bar to maximize the window and get the controls back, but perhaps a
new user wouldn't.

- Could this be related to Bug 437089?
