Switching to the Breeze desktop thema also makes no difference. I just performed a "release upgrade" to the version 21.10. Then I made a screenshot. After taking the screenshot I added the "backports ppa" to Kubuntu 21.10 and upgraded to plasma 5.23. Bingo!
