Does it work after  apt install neon-desktop ?

Do you have nvidia-prime dual graphics?

Hi - Did not do apt-get full-upgrade, just apt-get update && apt-get upgrade

Sounds like we are experiencing the same issue.  Did not try getting another
tty - thanks for mentioning, will be useful for fixing

I have just updated my system to the latest KDE Neon and I seem to have the
same issue. 
In my case, after login I got the black screen with the K logo avec the rolling
wheel. After a few seconds, the wheel freezes and nothing more happen. I do get
a cursor so the computer is not frozen and I can reach other tty.
