Yeah, we could install a second .desktop that uses the FolderView package and
parameterize it that way. This is similar to how e.g. the Pager and Activity
Pager or Kicker and Dashboard get served from the same plasmoid package but
with different Widget Explorer entries and different resulting behavior.

That would mean that users would have to configure their own trash applet,
though. A trash applet is common enough to warrant being as easy to put
somewhere as possible.
It could just be a preconfigured folderview, of course.
