You just added it, by answering my question. :)

Since the functionality you want is already provided by alt+`, you can just use
that instead. If you prefer to use a different keyboard shortcut to access the
functionality, you can change it, and then you will have exactly what you want.

oh sorry. the functionality is exactly the one provided by alt+`. but we should
be able to do it by pressing meta+n to go to the last window used of the app
and by repeating this we should cycle the windows of that app.

No :( Using the default keys, in case of multiple windows of an application X,
I would like to press meta+n to go the last used window of X and to cycle the
windows of X by repeating meta+n

Note that you can already switch between open instances of the *current* app
using the default alt+` shortcut. Is that what you were asking for?

It would also be nice if successive clicks on the icon would cycle through open
instances, too.
