I've already explained my reasoning for preferring always being able to see a graphical indicator rather than a text one. For developers, perhaps this is the preferred readout but not all of us are developers. "just stupid", on the other hand, is. I'm still not convinced that a graphical depiction of the charge level while plugged in outweighs the usefulness of an inhibition and power mode indicator, given that we already have the percentage label to convey that information even more accurately, and that the battery icon is already unconditionally shown when not charging. I also don't think this is enough of a problem that a configuration option is warranted here; not every detail must or can be configurable, and part of KDE's customizability means that there is the option of creating a custom widget to suit specific needs. Some users like myself simply prefer having a graphical indicator for battery, and taking it away in favour of a static icon is just stupid, to be completely honest. I've already offered alternate solutions, that is users who dislike the new change can disable seeing these new static icons. Some may prefer having a text readout instead, but again, that is an option users can make.
