In general, switching distros is a drastic course of action that will mask the actual cause of an issue and make it impossible to fix. And that's what happened here; I couldn't reproduce it, and now you can't reproduce it anymore either, so unfortunate there is no chance of the underlying cause of the bug being fixed.
