It usually works as expected in a new session, at some point it breaks to the described tiny nub. Changing the scaling (I usually do 125, 130 or 135%) seems to temporarily fix it for me. System tray icons now are working with no issues. I rebooted my system again just to make sure, and they're still working. Not sure if this actually has anything to do with this bug, but I figured I should at least mention it.
