https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=361534 Thomas Lübkingchanged: What|Removed |Added Resolution|--- |DUPLICATE Status|UNCONFIRMED |RESOLVED --- Comment #8 from Thomas Lübking --- I'm not even running KWin (or any KDE or any Qt) anymore... The compositor is suspended because the game asks for that - you can override that by a rule. It however hardly explains this behavior nor is overriding it a sane fix to the problem. If the artifacts move along the window and are even visible while the compositor is suspended, the only explanation is an OutputOnly window which is likely supposed to contain the deco shadows and is for some strange reason not removed (plus I really thought we'd now have gotten rid of the stupid window-but-not-the-window shadows) Also it's not clear whether this is really the cause (see bug #361154, "I can disable compositing for say the Steam client (in a kwin rule) and launching a Steam game - does not cause the compositing issues.") And no: never seen. I've no steam/account, though. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 361154 *** -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=361534 --- Comment #3 from Thomas Lübking--- "during the problem" has > Compositing > === > Compositing is not active Is that correct? Sounds as if the decoration window still includes some shadow padding? Can you please dump xwinfinfo and xprop of the damaged area? Run: xwinfinfo > damage.info; xwinfinfo > damage.props The cursor will turn into a "+" twice, just click somewhere into the damaged area next to the border. The output will be redirected into two files damage.info & damage.props. Please attach them *here* - do in general not use paste.kde.org nor dropbox for relevant bug information, since that information might be lost for future bug readers. [krita] [Bug 361546] New: The brushes have become really slow in recent 3.0 alpha builds compared to their 2.9 counterparts
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=361546 Bug ID: 361546 Summary: The brushes have become really slow in recent 3.0 alpha builds compared to their 2.9 counterparts Product: krita Version: git master Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: major Priority: NOR Component: Brush engine Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: raghavendr.ra...@gmail.com I have noticed that some brushes have become really slow in builds ( probably after the Vc 1.2 transition) first i thought this may be because the brushes had complex tip, but then i chose basic brushes like Basic-tip-default to test . I tested the same brushes in 2.9 and 3.0 with same settings. I have not enabled instant preview to test the base speed and not the preview (Note below) The results showed that there is a noticeable speed difference in basic brushes, you can check the screen capture here -> https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/3793/new-lag.mp4 (I will attach this video to this bug report too) as you can see at the end of video the 300px brush takes too much time in 3.0 while the same brush with same size completes the stroke way before it gets completed in 3.0 Now the reason to disable instant preview was that I wanted to see the difference in real stroke and beside enabling instant preview gives on more side effect since the brush takes too much time to load the stroke is not finished in the background and it really hampers painting , often if you paint something and then decide to delete or clear the canvas after 3-4 sec krita hangs a bit as the stroke is still rendering in background. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open krita create a new document switch off the instant preview ( this is to notice the actual speed of the brush) 2.Choose brush basic -tip-default and adjust the size above 120px 3. drawing on canvas with a reasonable speed Actual Results: the brush stroke takes too much time to complete even if it is normal basic brush Expected Results: The performance of the brush should be onpar of what we had in 2.9 if not faster than it . Pardon me for setting this bug to major as this hampers the painting process and I think this shouldn't go unnoticed , if you feel there should be a lower priority to this report please change it. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[plasmashell] [Bug 359127] Desktop theme KCM 'details' and editing tab no longer present/functional
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=359127 Michał Dybczakchanged: What|Removed |Added CC||michal.dybc...@gmail.com --- Comment #28 from Michał Dybczak --- I'm joining the discussion because for me missing of those features is a big step back. Most of themes that are said to be transparent add it only slightly and for me they are no go. Only ones available for TRUE transparency were Diamond and Polished Stones, however they're were elements in them that weren't working well for me: - diamond adds white border to windows manager in desktop panel and the whole look is not flat and obsolete, - polished stones adds ugly, green icons and fonts on panel bar - both use kubuntu icon kickstarter while I use manjaro and prefer to have manjaro icon (far better looking) The removed feature allowed me to mix manjaro's default flat them Maia with diamond's elements to create exactly the flat, glassy, modern look I want and LOVE! Now the feature is gone and in the future if I wanted to change the look I would be stuck with different/ugly/unfitting kickstarter (most themes use default - kubuntu's one) and lot of other effects I dislike. Sure, the feature of advanced theme mixing was a bit buggy but with some experimentation one was able to achieve desired effect that works well. Why not just give a little love to that feature rather then removing it? It was very useful! This was one of the biggest features I loved about kde, I could customize it in the inside (how it works) and outside (how it looks). Now it's like the half of it was gone. My feeling is, we're going in the direction of gnome. What is the point of KDE existing if not being extremely customable and a complete opposite to gnome philosophy? People love KDE for it and now KDE seems to loose its identity. I'm sad because of that. I still hope that once devs figure out how to make this mixing theme feature work, it will come back. Maybe not it the same version but still. Customizing desktop look to such a degree EASILY that no other DE was able to, made KDE to stand out, but now it became just average. A huge loos :(. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[krita] [Bug 342105] [HUION] Cannot right click with the Pen of Huion H610 Pro
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=342105 downshi...@gmail.com changed: What|Removed |Added CC||downshi...@gmail.com --- Comment #24 from downshi...@gmail.com --- I'm having the same issue and was able to workaround by setting up a new Key Combination for Show Popup Palette and setting the Huion pen tablet settings up so that button 2 points to the same key combo (used ctrl+alt+0 since i don't use it for anything else) This is working flawlessly and instantly now - possible Krita is expecting the mouse click only from the attached mouse / any reason it would restrict the response because it's technically not a mouse? I'm wondering if, since Windows sets the tablet up as a pen device (not purely as a HID) this could be a factor (I'm on Windows 10 FYI) Hope this helps someone as this was the only thing stopping me from using Krita 100%! -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[plasmashell] [Bug 361561] New: Zoom (Meta and = key) causes translucent white boxes behind widgets
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=361561 Bug ID: 361561 Summary: Zoom (Meta and = key) causes translucent white boxes behind widgets Product: plasmashell Version: 5.6.1 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk Reporter: dontar...@yahoo.com CC: bhus...@gmail.com, plasma-b...@kde.org When zoomed in, the white boxes appear to be a background layer that is used to provide translucency to plasma widgets. However, the location / size of the background layer is not adjusted when zooming in. Hence, they appear in the wrong location and obstruct the view of areas that should be visible. The best way to see this is by looking at the screenshots I posted at the URLs below. In the first screenshot in particular you can see that the white layer is in the shape of the Application Menu, but it is in the size / location it should be if the desktop were *not* zoomed. These white layers block the view of other applications (e.g. bottom edge of the screen in the second screenshot). Screenshots of the bug: http://snag.gy/XahKw.jpg http://snag.gy/pg8tA.jpg Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Press Meta and = at the same time to zoom. Actual Results: You should see a white bar at the bottom of the screen. The bar stays there when the mouse is moved. If you go to the KDE Application Menu and open it, you will see white boxes appear in the shape of the menu items that are open. These white boxes will be in the location and size they would be if the screen was not zoomed in. Expected Results: No white boxes. I have observed this issue in at least the last few versions of KDE plasma. I can reproduce the bug 100% of the time on both a laptop and desktop machine. [kwin] [Bug 361534] Kwin crashes while playing games 2D Using OpenGL?
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=361534 --- Comment #7 from wolfyrion--- it seems is a shadow something that why I Cant capture that as a window and it captures the plasma 5 desktop. Yes when I move the window the corrupted shadow thingy is moving as well. As I said before this actually is happening with ALL the 3D Games or any other application is using opengl KWIN automatically disables the compositor on launch of a 3D Application or game which that was not happening before. So is behaving like disabling/enabling compositor and causing these problems. This was not happening before, KWIN was not disabling the compositor thats why I didnt have any problems. I think these problems occurred during the last update. So noone of you can reproduce that bug... I mean you dont have any Application/GAME that is using opengl to launch just to see that it disables the compositor? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
