But when you copy file to another location, for example to your home directory, then you can open copied file. Here is video demonstration: https://youtu.be/CUuvfIObqY0 I suspect it may be because applications are trying to get write access (for example, change access time), but unable to do so, and fails. Sigh, I realize that. I like to know what was wrong with my approach as a possible solution. I can understand that 'mozilla/native-messaging-hosts/' should probably be static, but due to some distributions using the alternate locations under the FHS for libraries it just made sense to me to add a commonly used cmake variable to set the library location vice using the MOZILLA_DIR variable. [krita] [Bug 396171] CPU related brush performance issues on many mid to low-end mobile CPUs
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=396171 --- Comment #1 from Tyson Tan --- I have tested Krita 4.1.0 on two latest Macbooks today, but none of them are working well despite of their relatively high hardware specs. I don't know whether we have plan to optimize Krita on macOS in the future, but since the performance was alarmingly bad, I felt the need to report the detail as well. ### TEST Macbook (Retina, 12-inch, 2017), Intel Core m3-7Y32 (1.2Ghz) 8GB 1866Mhz RAM. Macbook Pro (13-inch, 2017, 2 Thunderbolt 3 ports), Intel core i5-7360U (2.3Ghz) 8GB 2133Mhz RAM. Both Macbooks were running macOS High Sierra 10.13.2. Krita 4.1.0.dmg Wacom Intuos S Gen 3 CTL-4100 with driver 6.3.30-2 installed. ### SYMPTOMS Brush preset "Basic-6_detail" is lagging behind, the drawing speed is even worse than Celeron N3450 and APUs under Windows 10. Long and quick strokes crawls far behind for seconds before they can be finished, it's simply unusable. Brush preset "Basic-5_size" and other less resource intense presets are more responsive, but the tablet signal is clearly being dropped heavily, resulting in undesired straight lines when drawing curves. Krita 4.1.0's release notes said it had fixed this problem, but it appeared to be otherwise during my tests. Reminder: Core m3-6Y30 under Windows 10 can handle these without breaking a sweat. ### MORE I've also tested Pentium N4200 8GB under Windows 10. It was as slow as its brother Celeron N3450. The only difference being its burst frequency of 2.5Ghz, but it appeared to be irrelevant during the test. The result made me suspect optimization issues even more. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

I know that in Windows the "Reference image" docker caused the application to crash and has been replaced by the "Reference Images" tool. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=396285 --- Comment #2 from Jack --- Also please provide some more information about the file server - distro and version of samba or whatever is actually providing the file share, as well as the client's version of Samba (my assumption as to what is used to access the smb share.) Have you used any other programs which update/save files to that share such as emacs and/or libreoffice. I suspect KMM is just doing a normal save, and reporting the error, but it is some issue with the underlying file sharing that is deleting the old file before actually saving the new one. [kmymoney] [Bug 396286] New: KF5 ofximporter "Map account" fails on MS Windows
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=396286 Bug ID: 396286 Summary: KF5 ofximporter "Map account" fails on MS Windows Product: kmymoney Version: git (master) Platform: MS Windows OS: MS Windows Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: importer Assignee: kmymoney-de...@kde.org Reporter: jeffjl@outlook.com Target Milestone: --- I have a couple of problems with ofxpartner.cpp on a craft-mingw-Qt5.11-windows build. First, the "get" function of the OfxHttpRequest constructor does not work. Maybe because KIO::copy does not work on Windows. Maybe KIO::copy doesn't work because of QUrl problems on Windows (see problem #2, below). Or maybe this has been overlooked because if you have an old ofx-bank-index.xml file laying around, KMM will use that file even if it fails to fetch a new one. I hacked around that issue by just commenting out the "if(type.toLower() == QStringLiteral("get"))" section around ofxpartner.cpp line 297 and always using the "post" code. A full fix would just remove the "type" parameter from that function (it was unused in KMM4). I have not been able to figure out a "clean" solution to the second problem. It has to do with QUrl paths. I can not find a combination of QUrl, QFile, QDir, QFileInfo calls that will construct a file name that succeeds with QFile::open in the slotOfxConnected() method. Even though QUrl.isLocalFile() returns "true", the file path either does not include the drive letter, e.g. "/users/jeff/ofx-bank-index.xml", or includes the drive letter looking like a network name, e.g. "//c/users/jeff/ofx-bank-index.xml". QFile fails to open either of those. This may only be a problem because my KMM program is on D: and my app folder is on C:. If they were on the same drive, maybe the "/users/jeff" path would work. If I just hack in a string replacement to change the "//c/" to "c:/" to pass to QFile::open(), then KMM will fetch a new ofx-bank-index.xml and everything's good from there (assuming the "get" fix is in). The "static QString directory" member variable is correctly "C:/users/jeff" at the troublesome spot. It just gets lost in the QUrl. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[Discover] [Bug 396288] New: Do not notify about updates which are on hold
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=396288 Bug ID: 396288 Summary: Do not notify about updates which are on hold Product: Discover Version: unspecified Platform: Neon Packages OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Updater Assignee: aleix...@kde.org Reporter: m.w...@web.de Target Milestone: --- I have a package which I have set on hold, which means it would be updated. Unfortuneately this means my update notification is permanently notifying me about available updates so I have to click from time to time in order to check if there is something else then the update which I have set on hold. I think the behaviour of notifying about packages "on hold" should be handled as follows. - No notification in the icon - If the user clicks on the icon to see the updates, he then sees * XXX updates * XX security updates * X package(s) on hold The user then somewhere has an option update the package on hold anyway, but is not asked on every updated if he wishes to do that. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[plasmashell] [Bug 358283] VD: Make user-added plasmoid icons the same size of the system tray icons

Thank you for the implementation. Your test cases work for me, too. I think, the next steps would be to add NotificationArea=true (for reference I found this: https://community.kde.org/Plasma/DeveloperGuide#Notification_Area_.28Systemtray.29) to more applets. I have identified the following applets where the Notification area property could be set: - Dictionary - Calculator - Calendar - Quick Share - KDevelop Sessions - Konsole Profiles - Search -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[plasmashell] [Bug 396289] New: Reduce width of "Minimize Windows"/"Show Desktop" applet
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=396289 Bug ID: 396289 Summary: Reduce width of "Minimize Windows"/"Show Desktop" applet Product: plasmashell Version: 5.13.1 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: Panel Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: codestr...@posteo.org Target Milestone: 1.0 In many cases, the "Minimize Windows"/"Show Desktop" applet is placed on one corners of the panel, typically at the right-most side. [kwin] [Bug 396272] wayland: kwin crashes after energy saving turns monitors off and i try to wake them on with a mouse

Backtrace makes total sense, drmPageFlip/drmHandleEvent is effectively async and our user_data pointer we supply (the DrmOuptut) can get deleted. We can try to make sure we never delete the output when we have a pending flip. Alternatively I once did a clever trick in kwayland of putting a QPointer on the heap and using that as our user data. Kinda safer, kinda just avoiding the problem. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[frameworks-ki18n] [Bug 365917] ki18n fails to link on musl libc due to _nl_msg_cat_cntr
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=365917 Michael Pyne changed: What|Removed |Added CC||mp...@kde.org --- Comment #4 from Michael Pyne --- The patch as attached looks stylistically correct to me, using a CMake check to generate a config.h file that would then be used for the include guard. That's also how I'd do it, and I wouldn't have even bothered to fix the .gitignore myself. However the patch wouldn't have worked directly (the fix to FindLibIntl.cmake uses "HAVE_..." while the code checks for "HAS_..."). Also I'd use a namespaced include guard in config.h (e.g. "#ifndef KF5_KI18N_CONFIG_H ..." instead of "#ifndef CONFIG_H"), but that's more about residual trauma from --enable-final builds back in the day. Since we've already got a soft +1 on this patch already I'll go ahead and commit the corrected patch in the next day or two if there's no objections from here. P.S. I've previously built all of KF5 on Alpine Linux (also using musl libc) while testing Docker, but I think that had worked because I had also installed GNU libintl, presumably that overrides the musl libintl if both exist? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[valgrind] [Bug 396290] New: [PATCH] Possible tool - allocfail
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=396290 Bug ID: 396290 Summary: [PATCH] Possible tool - allocfail Product: valgrind Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: jsew...@acm.org Reporter: roger.li...@cedalo.com Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 113820 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=113820&action=edit Patch against master Hello, I've done some work on making a valgrind tool to help test heap allocation failures. The idea is that when an allocation is about to happen, the tool checks whether it has seen this call stack before. If it hasn't seen the call stack, then the memory allocation fails, otherwise it succeeds. Call stacks are stored in memory and on disk in the form of a checksum, and each time the tool runs it can load the checksums from disk so carrying out multiple runs of the same program will test different allocation failures. In theory this means you can test the failure of every single heap allocation in your program, in practice that may be difficult to achieve, especially for complex programs. I've attached the patch for your consideration. The biggest limitation to my mind is the use of the adler32 checksum function. Ideally I would use an actual hashing function and have a version of this patch that uses a third party sha3 implementation, but didn't want to complicate things at this point. I have't managed to get print-docs working, but I believe that is more down to my environment than anything else. I look forward to your comments... -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[frameworks-qqc2-desktop-style] [Bug 396287] qqc2-desktop-style crashing when QApplication::style() returns NULL
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=396287 RJVB changed: What|Removed |Added Status|RESOLVED|CLOSED --- Comment #2 from RJVB --- Well, that really puts a huge damper on using this plugin; setting QT_QUICK_CONTROLS_STYLE=org.kde.desktop means random (from the user's PoV) applications will start to crash. Letting code crash like this is really sloppy too, IMHO. Apparently it's not possible to let the style plugin deactivate itself when `qApp->style() == NULL`, but it can at least provoke a more or less clean application exit by not registering anything in registerTypes. And maybe it's not that expensive to let the style become a big NOOP in this situation. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[Spectacle] [Bug 358641] Have Spectacle remember filename
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=358641 --- Comment #10 from Albert --- (In reply to Emmanuel Revah from comment #9) > I can only add that I've been sad (and lost trying out other programs) since > Ksnapshot's easy file naming thing has left us. I was thinking that rather than the current "if filename exists, next time it will filename+(#+1)" or the date format as shown above, perhaps dev can add another option %d or rather %Nd (where N is any number of 0s or none) so that you can have the default format filename%ND.jpg (or whatever the user selects as file type) since you already added the date format as a type, adding an integer shouldnt be too farfetched, right? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
