[valgrind] [Bug 393351] unhandled instruction bytes: 0x62 0xF1 0xFD 0x48 0x6F 0xD 0xE1 0xEC 0x8 0x0

2020-01-02 Thread Tom Hughes
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=393351

--- Comment #29 from Tom Hughes  ---
So the four byte EVEX prefix of 62 f1 fe 08 decodes as:

EVEX.mm   = 0b01   / 1
EVEX.pp   = 0b10   / 2
EVEX.RXB  = 0b111  / 7
EVEX.R’   = 0b1/ 1
EVEX.X= 0b1/ 1
EVEX. = 0b / 15
EVEX.V’   = 0b1/ 1
EVEX.aaa  = 0b000  / 0
EVEX.W= 0b1/ 1
EVEX.z= 0b0/ 0
EVEX.b= 0b0/ 0
EVEX.L’L  = 0b00   / 0

or EVEX.128.F3.0F.W1 for short, which makes 62 f1 fe 08 6f become:

EVEX.128.F3.0F.W1 6F /r
VMOVDQU64 xmm1 {k1}{z}, xmm2/m128

New crash information added by DrKonqi

plasmashell (5.17.4) using Qt 5.13.2

I am now at 5.17.4, this still happens
- What I was doing when the application crashed:

As before I tried to move a task to a different VT.
If you can't reproduce just hesitate before dropping.
It also crashes when you just hover the VT widget and slowly move the mouse,
keeping the left mouse button pressed.

[krita] [Bug 415810] New: Recovered autosaves are by default saved in incorrect location

2020-01-02 Thread Tymond
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=415810

Bug ID: 415810
   Summary: Recovered autosaves are by default saved in incorrect
location
   Product: krita
   Version: nightly build (please specify the git hash!)
  Platform: MS Windows
OS: MS Windows
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Usability
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: tamtamy.tym...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
When you recover an autosave (tested on unnamed ones, those that appear at the
opening of Krita), Save and Save As dialogs shows AppData/Local/Temp as a
default save location. This cause confusion etc.
In my opinion the default save location in this case should be the same as for
newly created unsaved/unnamed files (which is Pictures folder).

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open Krita. Make a new image. Paint a few strokes. Wait for autosave.
2. Close Krita from outside.
3. Open Krita again.
4. Recover the file.
5. Try to use Save or Save As dialog.

OBSERVED RESULT
Both tries to Save into Temp directory.

EXPECTED RESULT
Both should save into Pictures directory by default.

Hi,

Is there hope to see PostgreSQL as a database backend? This bug has no activity
since years.

If you need a PostgreSQL DBA to test, I'll volunteer.

Yours,

Tim,

My failback to 8 bits color depth under Windows 10 work as expected here. I
just tested with the Windows installer generated today. I just created an HEIC

The max bit depth reported by libx265 is a mess, but forcing to use the default
8 bits color depth work like a charm...

Note: i tried to export as HEIC in lossless mode or in lossy mode, and in both
i generate a valid HEIC file.

Please try again with this installer version:

Note2: I agree that something wrong as not expected with libx265 library under
Windows about the max bit depth supported. Reporting this problem to libx265
project can be a good idea. About Gimp, i don't know how it work to export HEIC
files.

So, if you can reproduce the problem on your windows 10 with the pointed DK
windows installer, please share on the cloud the original image that you try to
export.

Thanks for the tips! I'm attaching the warnings I'm seeing from Leawo running

I'll try to think of a better title :)

1/ Click in the 'search articles' field,
2/ then click on an article and press the delete key.

The operation is not possible. The search field doesn't release the focus (the
cursor is still blinking)

Expected (I guess): if you click on an article after searching, the search text
field should lose the focus.

enter or the other shortcuts (eg. ctrl+I) work as expected, only the delete key
fails

I can confirm this with the 4.2.8 appimage. I can reproduce it in command line
by typing

krita-4.2.8-x86_64.appimage & krita-4.2.8-x86_64.appimage

Results in a segfault. I guess it would also happen if you put an icon to Krita
on the desktop, and maybe more often on a slow system where Krita takes a while
to start up and you get impatient and click again...

I think this is a general deficiency in our QQC2 ToolButton styling. Elisa is
currently working around this issue by using Button controls with `flat: true`
to mimic a toolbutton appearance, because in this mode, the button looks like a
toolbutton but indicates focus with a blue outline.

[digikam] [Bug 415557] Face detection - Advanced settings : restricted folder scope not taken into account

2020-01-02 Thread Alexandre Belz
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=415557

--- Comment #5 from Alexandre Belz  ---
Thank you Maik for this explanation.

There is something i don't understand, then : as the User Manual explains,
"In case of unsatisfying results it might be helpful to use Clear and rebuild
all training data. One reason can be that there are too many face tags assigned
to a person which shows this person in a way that doesn't really help the
search algorithm, e.g. with sunglasses, blurred, unusual colors, carnival make
up, dark shaded areas in the face, baby/kid/adult photographs mixed..."

... i then expect the possibility to reject some folders (odd faces) and
rebuild the DNN database on recent pictures only (the selected folders). Which
is not possible currently.
If we rebuild the learning DNN database on the whole collection, we'll still
re-include old/misleading pictures...
Don't you think so ?

[valgrind] [Bug 393351] unhandled instruction bytes: 0x62 0xF1 0xFD 0x48 0x6F 0xD 0xE1 0xEC 0x8 0x0

2020-01-02 Thread Tom Hughes
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=393351

--- Comment #30 from Tom Hughes  ---
The short version however is that valgrind doesn't support AVX512 yet so don't
compile your code for AVX512 if you want to be able to use valgrind on it, and
that includes any libraries you use.

Note that valgrind won't advertise AVX512 support in CPUID even if your CPU
supports it, but this code has been compiled to use it unconditionally.

Bug https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=383010 is tracking AVX512 support.

In fact we were using tool buttons and migrated to flat buttons once support
for them was added.
It felt like an abuse of ToolButton. The focus issue was just a trigger.

Are you scaling the display at all? At 270 DPI, you would need to be using a
2-8 to 3.0x scale factor to make everything show up at the intended size.

If not, I would expect *everything* to be difficult to distinguish at
effectively one third of the intended size.

Example of initial gwenview screen after opening remote image

SUMMARY
When opening remote images in gwenview, they are not initially displayed.
Instead, the user must press the "View" button in the toolbar to display the
remote image.

The proper behavior can be observed when opening a local image. Opening a
local image immediately shows the image in the gwenview window.

Screenshot attached.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open a remote image on the command line or through the "File->Open" dialog.
For example:  "gwenview https://xannode.com/gwenview.png;

OBSERVED RESULT
The image is "partially" loaded. The titlebar reflects the image resolution
and meta information is populated, but the image is not displayed in the main
gwenview window. The "view" toolbar button must be pressed in order to display
the remote image.

EXPECTED RESULT
It's expected that the remote image be loaded immediately.

Can you try using kpat from our "nightly experimental" flatpak and see if you

Git commit fcf4529f62e15cfc891757cf372c4ef7ee7ea4d1 by Alexander Saoutkin.
Committed on 02/01/2020 at 18:29.
Pushed by asaoutkin into branch 'master'.

Adding support for mounting KIOFuse URLs for applications that don't use KIO

Summary:
This patch is required to provide seamless integration with KIOFuse and KIO.

The patch attempts to convert URLs that applications will not understand
natively into local paths based on a KIOFuse mount. If successful, the URL
passed to the application is changed to its location within the KIOFuse mount.
If it is not successful, the URL is not changed.

If KIOFuse is not installed, then kioexec is simply used.
Related: bug 75324, bug 398216, bug 398446
FIXED-IN: 5.66

Test Plan:
Compile KIO with this patch.

Build and install KIOFuse (follow instructions in README):
https://invent.kde.org/kde/kio-fuse

Once KIO is built, Dolphin is built with this newly built KIO, and kio-fuse is
built,
one should start the kio-fuse process.

The easiest way to test this is via Dolphin (that is built with this patch):
`dbus-launch dolphin`.

Once you have done the above one can simply browse to any non-local location in
say, Dolphin, where upon opening a URL in a non-KIO enabled app, it should open
in the KIOFuse mount, except for MTP/Gdrive URLs - those will use KIOExec.
Conversely, KIO URLs in KIO-enabled apps should not use KIOFuse.

None of the suggested features are possible with Thunderbird's WebMail
extension API. The only feature that I managed to implement is boarding pass
extraction (main focus of this project) and finding contacts and mails in
KRunner (and even that doesn't really work well with the API Thunderbird
provides)

The notifications should just be fixed in Thunderbird directly...

KDE Frameworks Version: 5.65.0_1
Qt Version: 5.13.2_2

It turns out that the hang is heavily dependent of how much text is
selected/copied. Single characters/words/lines are no problem, but as soon as
you select more than 4…8 lines (depending on length), tmux@konsole hangs.

1) when "rebuild" tickbox is enabled, could the "Whole collection" tickbox be
