If I open a present xmi file with that change applied and save it again - will
that change the attribute order ?

If so, can it be brought in line with the current implementation to avoid
unnecessary changes to the files ?

[kmail2] [Bug 428718] New: Unread messages indicated, but empty message list until akonadi restart

2020-11-05 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=428718

Bug ID: 428718
Summary: Unread messages indicated, but empty message list
until akonadi restart
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 5.15.2
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: message list
  Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: gran...@tempmail.de
  Target Milestone: ---

I have been facing the issue that my folders indicate several unread messages
but when I click on them, only old messages are shown.

When I then restart akonadi the new messages are shown.

I have not tested whether it is enough to just wait for some time; but at least
10 minutes is not enough; so akonadi restart is mandatory

It seems that this is not really reproducible as it doesnt affect all folders
all times. But I guess it is not intended.

It would be nice if you would provide me with some debugging hints in order to
solve that issue

[kwin] [Bug 428719] New: Kwin rules will not let you select several activities for a given window or application

2020-11-05 Thread Aldoo
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=428719

Bug ID: 428719
Summary: Kwin rules will not let you select several activities
for a given window or application
   Product: kwin
   Version: 5.20.2
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: rules
  Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: aldo-pub...@laposte.net
CC: isma...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

The applications I use are typically used in the context of a some subset of
the set of activities I defined. This subset often is a strict subset (not
*all* activities) and not a singleton (I need this application in *several*
activities).

I would like kwin to be able to automatically set the activities where the
application or window should be shown when the application starts or the window
appears.

Currently, kwin rules settings (for either windows or apps) will only let me
create such a rule for one single activity: a rule of the form "initially, set
activity to SOME_ACTIVITY". What would like instead is the ability to define a
rule of the form "initially, set activities to SOME_ACTIVITY_1,
SOME_ACTIVITY_2, ... SOME_ACTIVITY_N".

This rule format would be more consistent with what you can do from the window
decoration context menu, where you can actually choose an arbitrary set of
activities where the window should be shown.

I have filters for mailing lists which shall colorize the mails

They usually work like: List-Id contains ... -> Add Tag

Some mails (even in the same thread) are not filtered correctly (i.e. at all)

The filter logs states:

I have a dark transparent theme with X11.
But with a wayland session the theme become black with no blur and
transparency.
Only the desktop theme is affected,no issues with kwin or with a intel gpu.

Sent a bug report also.

It's likely this is only in a VM or has been fixed since the ISO's release.

I've just tested on my local machine a mounted USB drive with a .sh file that I
ran from dolphin (run in konsole).

When attempting to eject the USB device I got a message in dolphin saying "One

Thanks a lot for looking into it!

If I may add one more piece of information I hadn't known as of creating this
bug report: I tried again a few days ago on current KDE version (KDE Frameworks
5.75, KDE Apps 20.08.2, Plasma 5.20.2) and strangely enough it still doesn't
seem to work when using a GMail account BUT it does work as expected on a

Yes, they are the default for Focus Left/Right Terminal now.

But they were the default for Move Tab Left/Right before, i.e.
Ctrl+Alt+Left/Right did move tabs in older versions (up to 19.04.3), hence this
"regression" report.

Personally I don't mind, so I won't reopen it myself though.

Well, in case anybody is interested in the OP's opinion: I think since this has
been unresolved for me than a year, making another breaking change back will
upset yet another part of the users, who already got used to the new behavior.
Such bug is something that needs to be fixed as fast as possible, otherwise
whichever change you'll do, someone is gonna be unhappy.

I personally have explicitly bound the older shortcuts.

I’m afraid I don’t have a box to test this. This bug was reported 5 years ago,
and other people had it last in 2018. If you cannot reproduce this with a
recent version yourself (enable a Compose key in Keyboard settings
, and make sure you’re on Xorg),
it might have been fixed already.

As I already tried to say, I think that's rather a "problem" in the application
that parses your input (e.g. KF5's desktop file parser). Konsole likely doesn't
even see the parts after the first '%%'.

That it worked in the past doesn't necessarily mean that it's correct though...

I see the same behavior (that you report as "broken") when I enter that line in
xterm, even if I replace "konsole" with "xterm":
xterm -e echo "foo" && sleep 3 && echo "bar" && sleep 3 && echo "closing"
I.e. the new xterm window doesn't even show up, and "bar" and "closing" appear
in the original xterm window.

IMHO, you need to add quotes as mentioned.

[kate] [Bug 396623] Script categorization could use improvement

2020-11-05 Thread DrSlony
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=396623

Hey

Since Emmet is an external plugin, it could be argued for Emmet scripts to
remain separate.

The "category:" entries link is dead.

I see two entries in Navigation, one entry in Quick Coding and seven in
Editing. I'm a developer and don't know the difference between Editing and
Quick Coding. No point having a subcategory for two, let alone one, items. I
would get rid of those rather empty and ambiguous categories and just have the
entries right under Scripts.

Furthermore, the Tools menu has entries such as Uppercase, Lowercase,
Capitalize... These are effectively no different than the entries in Scripts >
Editing, such as Sort Selected Text, Move Lines Up, etc. From a user's
perspective, they all belong together. I shouldn't need to hunt through menus
and submenus looking for something which has been (to me arbitrarily)
categorized based on whether it comes from a script or not, or maybe whether it
comes from a bash script or a python script or C++.

What I'm essentially saying is that, unless it's common practice for KWrite
users to modify what appears under the Scripts menu, it would be good to get
rid of this sub-categorization based on where a bit of code comes from, and
just list actions in one place, making them easier for users to find.

Erm sorry. I confused Alt with Shift

Read this as:
Yes, Ctrl+Alt+Left/Right is the default for Move Tab Left/Right now (since

But Ctrl+Shift+Left/Right was the default for Move Tab Left/Right before (upto

SUMMARY

DESCRIPTIVE
When Copying files (F5) between panes (not when moving files) between different
drives
When a directory- or file-name has a as the last character or contains
characters like ">", ":"
then the creation of the directory or file stops with a fail and stops all
further coying, and the user has to correct the file/directory name and
restart the copy process.
this does not happen in the 'move' F5 process

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. make sure soem directories/files have -spaces at the end or names
contain other offending characters
2. select a dirctory
3. press F5 Copy
4. fail

OBSERVED RESULT
Copy process stops with a fail

EXPECTED RESULT
* as this same condition doesn't stop the move of files, i don't think the copy
process should fail or the move process is not failing when it should
* the bulk copy should stop and allow to skip the copy and continue or
correction of the offending filename

[yakuake] [Bug 428644] Yakuake with dark stripes on terminal area

2020-11-05 Thread Miguel Rozsas
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=428644

I change the theme from Dark-openSUSE to Breeze, no effect. The stripes remain.
Then I changed the Yakuake theme from Breeze to plastik and Legacy. No effect.
I changed the Yakuake transparency setting too. No effect. In fact, looks like
the transparency setting it is not working at all. It remains opaque even if it
is set to 10%.
Another settings that is not working is the background color.

To make sure the settings were applied, I run yakuake in a terminal windows and
close and re-run the program after each change and then, I notice it issues a
warning message when starts. I don't know if it is relevant or not:

kf.newstuff.core: Using a deprecated location for the knsrc file
"yakuake.knsrc" - please contact the author of the software which provides
this file to get it updated to use the new location

The issue comes from a logic issue. File size in inconsequential most likely.

Is there double files in ~/.local/share/Trash/info/ as well compared to the
trash "real" content in "~/.local/share/Trash/files" ?

Yes but it's complicated and, when you have many images to copy, it takes too
much time.
Gthumb way is "standard" way:

Select the files to be transferred, right-click on the selection, and choose
Copy to... or Move to This will open a folder-selection dialog, where you
can choose the destination folder.

"Full screen" in my posts generally refers to the video player embedded within
a website such as youtube. Represented by the four corners of a square or
rectangle in the lower right of a youtube embedded video. However, making
Firefox itself full screen (F11) also causes the black screen issue.
