https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=477137 Bug ID: 477137 Summary: Top screen doesn't display graphics although the cursor travels to it when in MUX mode on a dual-screen laptop. Classification: Plasma Product: kwin Version: master Platform: Arch Linux OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: grave Priority: NOR Component: compositing Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: skokkin...@proton.me Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY Plasma 6 from `kde-unstable` Arch repositories cannot display graphics on the second screen on a dual-screen laptop when dGPU with MUX is enabled. I have an Asus Zephryus Duo 2023 (7945HX with a MUX switched 4090 and two screens) and , considering this might be a Wayland issue, I have tried using Hyprland and Plasma on it. Both DEs can detect the second (primary - meaning the top screen) screen but Hyprland doesn't really even enable it. In Plasma 6, both with Nouveau (and NVK) and Nvidia drivers, Plasma fails to display graphics on the top screen. The cursor travels to the top screen but no graphics are displayed (the screen remains black). When trying to manually enable the screen from the Plasma Setting app a single frame is displayed offsetted and nothing else. When the laptop doesn't use MUX switch (Optimus mode) everything works properly. Currently ubmitting this bug from this laptop with Plasma 6 Wayland on Optimus mode. Specs: CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7945HX GPU: Nvidia 4090 with MUX switch RAM: 32 GBs DDR5 SSD: M.2 2TB STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Set the laptop to MUX dGPU mode. 2. An icon at the left edge of the search bar indicates that DuckDuckGo is set as the currently active search engine. I defined an additional search engine via menu Edit > Preferences > Other > Manage search engines: I added the search engine Startpage.com to the list of existing search engines with the following parameters: Name: StartPage URL: https://startpage.com/do/search Post data: query=%s=web=english Shortcut: sp Startpage.com has a unique icon which is shown there. In the list of all available search engines in the "Manage Search Engines - Falkon" window the Startpage.com entry has been set by myself as the default search engine and has been moved to the first (top) position of all search engines in that list. But when you close the "Manage Search Engines - Falkon" window, the search bar at the top of the main Falkon window does not show the icon for the new default search engine Startpage.com, but still the icon for DuckDuckGo plus the text "DuckDuckgo" inside the address bar. And if you type a search term into the address bar and then execute an Internet search, your search gets applied using the DuckDuckGo search engine. Committed on 17/11/2023 at 15:41. Pushed by ngraham into branch 'master'. Refine presentation of "major upgrade available" message - Put the distro name in the text so the button doesn't have to be so long - For the PackageKit backend, change the button text to "Begin Upgrade…" So it's clear that this is just the first step and that further interactivity will be needed. For the RPM-OSTree backend, just tweak the existing wording to not be redundant. - Give the button an appropriate icon - Change the icon in the message banner itself to something more generic and appropriate (this is a generic update mechanism so it shouldn't be using an icon specific to RPM packages, since in principle this update notification could apply to an upgrade for any other kind of package too). - While we're touching strings, give them some translation context FIXED-IN: 6.0 M +12 -10 libdiscover/backends/PackageKitBackend/PackageKitBackend.cpp M +10 -8libdiscover/backends/RpmOstreeBackend/RpmOstreeBackend.cpp https://invent.kde.org/plasma/discover/-/commit/00967dae94ace9b7d57ea6dc4ff2f689871d9d19 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kdeconnect] [Bug 476513] Cannot turn off automatic share from the device
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=476513 --- Comment #2 from Denys --- Actually, looks like the problem is not with the plugin itself, but with the GUI configurator: instead of writing specific plugin's config into: ~/Library/Preferences/kdeconnect//kdeconnect_/config (where it should be, and it is in Linux), it puts it into the general config file for the device: ~/Library/Preferences/kdeconnect//config At the same time, plugins read from the correct config files, and since nothing has been written there, they can't be configured. If I put the configuration in the plugin-specific config files manually, everything works as expected. The same problem also happens with other plugins: for example, I can't configure the commands to be run or the directory where the transferred files have to be stored. For other plugins it's the same: if I edit their respective config files manually — everything works. Hope it helps! -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[neon] [Bug 476916] "intrafms-tools" pkcon, update-grub grabs old kernels.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=476916 --- Comment #4 from Lee Berry --- User thinks that 'osprober' is picking up old kernel (5.15) from a decommissioned SSD-drive that has KDE5.26 in /boot. The PC's hardware configuration has the old-disk "sdb1" labeled as /boot with boot flag set in the PC's spare slot. Removing the hot-swap /sdb drive should solve the problem. However, that is just a workaround. The grub-update should pick up the newest kernel 6.2.X.X. and recognize that the old kernel is not the current OS. Removing the boot-flag on /sdb2 is also a temp fix. This bug is very similar to an old "timeshift" bug that occurred on Manjaro where osprober was picking up copies of previous timeshifts. No time shifts are used here. Their fix was to set a flag to disable osprober in /etc/default/grub to GRUB_DISABLE_OS_PROBER=true. They admitted that it's not a fix. It's ust a work around. Many complains on that site about "grub2-mkconfig" not working well and suggest using an alternate boot loader daemon like "systemd_boot" rather than GRUB2. These are theory only, and have not been tested as the user wants to keep the current KDE5.27 same as out of the box original configuration. i.e.Manjaro reference: https://forum.manjaro.org/t/grub-found-non-existent-partitions-and-the-system-stopped-booting/130320/7 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
