https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=485204 --- Comment #5 from ConfuSomu --- > Does it also happen in a session with the original kwin_wayland running? This does not happen in a session with the original kwin_wayland running, such as after logging out and then logging back in. At this stage, the inhibition warning is displayed in the battery applet. > And can you say when the applet stops displaying the warning? It is > completely gone or does it only disappear e.g. after opening the laptop lid? I tried reproducing the bug in a new session, but haven't been able to (no packages or configurations were updated in the meantime). I don't remember when the warning originally disappeared. In a new session, after replacing kwin_wayland, the warning was still displayed, even if I suspended the laptop and woke it back up, and opened or closed the lid after unlocking. Interestingly, when unplugging my laptop from the external display/DisplayPort, the applet still displayed the same inhibition warning. When closing the lid, it didn't suspend. This does not happen with the original kwin_wayland. I can reproduce this bug in new sessions (after a log out and log in). No presentation mode or sleep inhibition is manually activated through the Plasma applets. Thank you! -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=483691 Nate Graham changed: What|Removed |Added Resolution|--- |WAITINGFORINFO Status|REPORTED|NEEDSINFO --- Comment #7 from Nate Graham --- I'm not able to reproduce this with my laptop and an external HP screen arranged to the left of the primary screen. I do have an Intel GPU though. Affected people, are you able to reproduce the issue in a new clean user account, by doing *exactly* the following: 1. Plug in screen 2. Ignore screen chooser OSD 3. Right-click on desktop > Configure Displays… 4. Move newly-connected screen to the left of the primary screen and click apply If not, please try by replacing steps 2-5 with "click on 'extend to left' in the screen chooser OSD" Either way, we need to know if it reproduces at all in a new clean user account. [KScreen] [Bug 485458] New: Display cofiguration resets after waking up laptop from suspend
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=485458 Bug ID: 485458 Summary: Display cofiguration resets after waking up laptop from suspend Classification: Plasma Product: KScreen Version: 6.0.3 Platform: openSUSE OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: major Priority: NOR Component: common Assignee: kscreen-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: chronosxyz...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY I have a problem where my display configuration resets after I wake up my laptop from the sleep. I have setup of laptop with external screen. My laptop has Optimus configuration (Intel/Nvidia). I use package called 'suse-prime' which helps to set Nvidia as my primary GPU and turn off Intel GPU completely. I use X11. Display configuration resets in a way where a) my screens overlay each other (so I have to move one display to the left of another in settings again and again); b) i have one working (external) screen with no panels on it and laptop screen is turned off (there is no 'primary' checkbox in settings anymore and laptop screen is turned off in settings as well). This happens constantly after suspend and I am setting right configuration again and again. This began to appear after I upgraded to Plasma 6. Also I've turned off Kwin compositor and use picom for it because of lags and critical bugs which still are not fixed unfortunately. This bug still reproduces in default Kwin configuration, so I don't think it is somehow related to picom. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Plug in external screen to the laptop 2. Close the lid 3. Wait till laptop will go to the sleep 4. Open the lid OBSERVED RESULT Display configuration resets. EXPECTED RESULT Display configuration should stay the same. [kate] [Bug 462112] Restore unsaved (newly opened - "Untitled") document doesn't work when Plasma session is restored
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=462112 bfs5...@gmail.com changed: What|Removed |Added CC||bfs5...@gmail.com --- Comment #5 from bfs5...@gmail.com --- Would like to add my +1 to this request. I was trying out this feature, and noticed that some test data I was playing around with was lost. Took a look and saw the behavior Tiernan described- the files do get successfully stashed on the filesystem, and they get loaded when the session is restored. But, if for any reason, Kate exits in an unexpected manner (eg. killall -9 kate), you lose all that data. It'd be nice to have a reliable-enough store of these sorts of "scratch notes" without having to think about concretely defining where they should live in a file hierarchy. Was using Notepad++ for this previously on Windows, and am now looking for a Linux replacement for it. I get that you should save data that you care about. But if this is something that can be implemented, I think it would be a great experience improvement for a sort of stash/stream of notes that are effectively auto-saved in a temporary location until you're ready to concretely define where you want it saved. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=485401 --- Comment #5 from noa --- I went through installing the packages one by one with --no-install-recommends and it also now works for me. I'm pretty clueless at doing this kinds of working out what the problem is beyond that.
