To conclude briefly, I'm very proud to have organized the conf.kde.in in Southern India and am also proud of the work some of the newcomers, whom I had a chance to help initially, are putting in. I'm really exicted about new and upcoming projects and excited by the work being done by the plasma team on their respective projects. Cheers, Harish

But could you please tell which ones you're talking about ? Also worth noting here, is that a project not seeing much development doesn't automatically equate to a project with no users and the mailing lists are the easiest way for a user to reach out for support. But of course, if you know of any obvious cases then it totally makes sense to clean them up. C heers, Harish

So, I'm in India and that's not ideal either. So assuming we want to have make these films in time for the 20th birthday, i.e October 14, we can team up at QtCon and maybe spend an extra week or two in filming some stories. We might even be able to find a few more volunteers at QtCon if we're lucky. Would that work fine for you ? But if we want to showcase the films at QtCon, that's going to be a little difficult indeed(as majority of the long term KDE folks are in based in Europe). I think meeting up at QtCon and then moving forward would be the most effective(cost and otherwise) way to go forward. Do you have any suggestions ? P.S: Sorry for the late reply. [kde-community] Call for volunteers - Shortfilms on KDE community members
Hey everyone, Few weeks ago, I proposed the idea[1] of making shortfilms/documentaries on the people who work on KDE's projects and how it has affected their lives and how their work is impacting the lives of others. This should be done in time for the 20th anniversary(or do we want to showcase it at QtCon ?) Personally speaking, I'm really excited at this idea and would love to see it happen. For that however, we need some folks to volunteer and help out. Would you like to help out and more importantly be available for maybe a week or two. Yes, we might have to go out and gather footage from the daily lives of people, who don't mind being on camera and who have made an impact on the KDE community. There are two types of volunteers I'm looking for. (i) Those who can help in filming stories and (ii) people who are willing to be a part of the films, depicting their stories. Depending on the number of volunteers, we can split up into teams and cover a few stories. Is there any interest in this ? Kindly let me know at the earliest. I made some notes on an notes.ko and if you have something to add, please feel free to do so : https://notes.kde.org/p/twentieth-anniversary-promo I hope we can make it big. Thank you for your time. Re: [kde-community] Telegram Relay Service
Hi, Just wanted to add here that having telegram bot synced with your IRC channel really works for me. I think it's the easiest way for me(and probably for most newbies too) to always stay connected and keep track of the logs. I cannot afford a server yet which means I'm disconnected most of the times and because we have members in the community from varying timezones, I feel this is a huge drawback. Of course, I don't expect everyone to have/afford a server and so far, I feel syncing telegram to an IRC channel is the easiest, if not the best(probably not the best, admittedly) way to stay connected. Kudos from my side. Infact, I just filed a ticket to register #kde-publictransport as an official KDE channel and a telegram relay service for the channel too. Cheers. Greetings everyone, We are very excited to announce the fourth edition of conf.kde.in, the biggest KDE conference in India. The participants will be introduced to the KDE community, and shall also be given an overview of the latest developments in it. The talks and interactive sessions shall help strengthen your basics and shall familiarize you with what it’s like to be a part of the KDE community and help you to contribute to KDE and maybe for future participation in programs like Google Summer of Code, Season of KDE and Google Code-In. Talks Every speaker at conf.kde.in is a bonafide contributor to KDE, some of them contributing since a decade. Attending the conference will give you the opportunity to meet seasoned open source contributors, discuss with them, exchange ideas with them, learn from them and also teach them something new.
