Cool. If you want more interest in Rocs though, an Idea is the way to do
that.

Well, you can work with more than one to develop a proposal, but we need
two mentors per student, so see how many of your fellow devels you can get
signed up as mentors!

Arthur needs to get his proposal uploaded ASAP so he can get feedback on it.

Hi Valorie,

There is no Ideas in the link, but there are many things that can be done
in ROCS.
I am registered as a mentor for KDE, so I could take some students to work
in
ROCS. I know Arthur (he is from my city), and he is interested as a student.

About the apply in GSOC

2020-03-22 Thread Christian Nakata
Hello members of KDE Community

My name is Christian Takashi Nakata
I have talked with Caio Tonetti about the projects of KDE, like Rocs, and
I'm very interested in working with open source projects
I would like to apply to a project on Rocs as a GSOC student to gain
experience during the program
However, I never worked with open source projects and honestly I'm kind of
confused
How should I write about my GSOC project proposal?

Furthermore, if you want I can translate the Rocs or others software into
Japanese as a GSOC project
I think it's an interesting project too, because the demand to learning a
programming language has increased in Japan due of the educational reform
that was recently approved
But few people are fluent in the English language and this makes it
difficult to access the various open source tools

Best regards,
Christian T. Nakata

Hello Arthur, are you asking as a student? If so, get in contact with the
team as soon as possible. However, I see no Ideas [1] from the Rocs team,
which indicates to me that they have no mentors available.

If you are volunteering as a mentor, now is a great time to prepare for
next year. With a year of developing experience, you will be well equipped
to help the team next year for GSoC.

Thanks for stepping up!
