  Adding new parameters is unfortunately Binary Incompatible so this can't go 
in this way, for it to work you'd need to add a new function with all the 
parameters and then call one from the other.
  
  Maybe what we need is one that takes two bools we should have one that takes 
flags so we can add more flags in the future as needed

REVISION SUMMARY
  Scrolling a settings page horizontally feels awkward most of the time.
  This (optionally) lets the dialogue resize when it is opened so that
  horizonal scrolling becomes unnecessary.
  
  Things I am uncertain about:
  
  - Placement of the "FittingScrollArea" class above the function where it is 
used, and its name.
  
  - "fitContentHorizontally" is off by default in "KConfigDialog::addPage()" so 
existing code using the function not break because of this change.
  
  This change was discussed in Phabricator Differential D16048 
.

KDE4 build question: turning off hidden visibility?

Please excuse me for a question that's not directly related to KF5 frameworks; 
I don't know where else to reach an audience who might know (remember) the 
answer.

In short: how do I configure a build so it will use default (public) visibility 
for all symbols, preferably without patching something installed by kdelibs?

I'm assisting someone getting a KDE4 project to build on the latest Mac OS 
(10.14 "Mojave") which I cannot currently run myself. The project in question 
fails with a bunch of missing symbol errors at the link stage which I cannot 
reproduce on the OS version I am running myself. Not even when we both use the 
same stock compiler and linker (clang 5/ld64-latest from MacPorts) and, as far 
as I have seen, identical code-generation and linker options.

Not at the moment, no. We could easily add a flag for "don't build kssld", 
like in the attached patch (-DBUILD_KSSLD=OFF) but we would still have client 
code trying to contact it, possibly generating many errors about not being 
able to do that.
Well. Do you want to try it in CI to see what happens?

  not that I am a expert in delegates but from a glance the interface part 
looks ok.
  I would have no issues with merging this.
  It is an optional feature, we have one user.
  We can still evolve this interface with some Vx version if bad issues are 
discovered after some usage in KDevelop and do a cleanup for KF6.
  
  But we can wait for Dominik's opinion.

  Hi, I still need to test this.
  For the enum, I have no issue with scoped enums, but I think something like
  
  DefinitionData::LoadOptions::OnlyKeywords
  
  would be better than a enum that just encapsules a bool.
  Actually one could create a proper Q_FLAGS to allow combinations, if we later 
want to extend that.
