[Bug 172798] Kontact cannot synchronize with eGroupware on XMLRPC

If that is the case, why does the groupware wizard insist on using xmlrpc and
not groupdav to link to egroupware?
Anyway groupdav seems not to work either, when I set it up and click on the
'update folder list' button nothing happens and no calender items or address
book entries get synchronised.
This is using either http or https with servername/egroupware/groupdav.php or
servername/egroupware/group/groupdav.php where group is a group the user has
access rights to in egroupware.
Groupdav is activated for both the user and group in egroupware

If anyone has any ideas as to whether I am doing something wrong in egroupware
or in kontact I will be more than please to be proven to be a idiot!
Using Kontact 4.3.1 on kubuntu9.04 but I also tried this on kontact1.2.9 on
kubuntu8.04 with the same results

[Bug 210204] Can not sent email

2009-10-15 Thread Richard Bos
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=210204

--- Comment #2 from Richard Bos richard bos xs4all nl 2009-10-15 10:43:16 ---
It is something weird As stated I can sent email with Thunderbird.
However, when using telnet to connect to the smtp server I get:

$ telnet ip addr
Trying ip addr...
telnet: Unable to connect to remote host: Connection refused

When I use telnet to connect to the pop port on the same ip addr, it just
works.

When I do not connect from my labtop, but from a linux system, I get a
succesfull connection to the smtp server on ip addr.

I now workaround the problem, by using a port forward construction. This way
I'm succesfull in sending email from kmail.

My windows firewall is disabled However, I assume that there is still
somewhere a setting configured that does not allow me to use telnet with port
25 What can this be???

[Bug 210649] New: Kmail crashes when changing selected message before entering OpenPgp passphrase

2009-10-15 Thread Émeric Dupont
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=210649

Summary: Kmail crashes when changing selected message before
entering OpenPgp passphrase
   Product: kmail
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Unlisted Binaries
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: emeric.dup...@agol.org

Application that crashed: kmail
Version of the application: 1.12.2
KDE Version: 4.3.2 (KDE 4.3.2)
Qt Version: 4.5.3
Operating System: Linux 2.6.31-ARCH i686

What I was doing when the application crashed:
This happens every time I do the following:

* Change to a folder for which the selected message requires a pgp password to
be decrypted (password not stored)
* Select another message before the (modal) prompt for pgp passphrase appears
(this happens very often when I get new mail: the previous one is selected by
default, and I select the new one to see its content before realising I should
have waited for the prompt )
* Cancel the request for a passphrase (to close the modal dialog)
* -- That's where Kmail crashes.

[Bug 210651] New: A better gnupg integration in kmail

2009-10-15 Thread bluelupo
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=210651

Summary: A better gnupg integration in kmail
   Product: kmail
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Debian testing
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: i...@bluelupo.net

Version: kmail 4.3.2-1 (using KDE 4.3.2)
Compiler: gcc-4.3 4.3.4-5 The GNU C compiler
OS:Linux
Installed from:Debian testing/unstable Packages

Hello kmail developers,
you could simplify the setup of encrypted and signed mail in kmail? At present,
we must adapt some configuration files and also change the Security Devices
and under Identities tab cryptography.

Create or edit the following configuration files are to:
~/gnupg/gpg.conf
~/gnupg/gpg-agent.conf
~/.kde/env/gpagent.sh
~/.kde/shutdown/stop_gpagent.sh

There are instructions on kde.org under http://userbase.kde.org/KMail/PGP_MIME,
but this is not really user-friendly guide.

A better approach would be the complete functionality of encryption with gnupg
kmail to implement. A beginner overwhelmed them in the deployment of encryption
kmail. We could provide this functionality in the form of a wizard yet
available.

It would be nice if this functionality could be integrated into the next
versions of kmail. Otherwise, you have done a very good job with the new KDE4.

Regards
Michael Singer

Just a guess (because I know of one regression in 4.5.3), does
export QT_NO_GLIB=1
(and then restarting kmail from that terminal)
solve the problem?

I just came here to report this bug myself and came across this rather old bug
that seems to fit the bill.

Anyway, I can report that it is still a problem in kde 4.3.2, kmail version
1.12.2. I'm looking at a mail list now with three unread mails shown against
the folder but I only see two of them, the other is lost... Next unread
message doesn't find it either. Poor message...

Sounds like a duplicate of
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=63780

The latter one is a little bit younger, but has more votes and discussed some
more implementation details, thus suggest merging both to receive more
visibility (and votes).

[Bug 210696] New: Choose the Identity based on the current Activity / Desktop

2009-10-15 Thread Matthias Bach
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=210696

Summary: Choose the Identity based on the current Activity /
Desktop
   Product: kmail
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: SuSE RPMs
OS/Version: unspecified
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: ma...@marix.org

Version:(using KDE 4.3.2)
Installed from:SuSE RPMs

Usually one does not only have different desktops for different things one
does, but also different online identity aka email addresses. E.g. one for
work, one for university, one for open source and one for private
communication. While KMail nicely supports having multiple Identities it does
not yet perfectly fit in with the new KDE4 workflow of having multiple
activities. Ideally the identity chosen for a new email would not only be
chosen by the default and the current folder, but, especially when launched
from a link or the tray, from the current Activity / Desktop.

Biggest benefit of this would be, that it would not only save you a selection
in the drop down, but also greatly reduce the risk of accidentally using the
wrong email address, as this automatically binds your email address to the
environment which triggered your decision to write an email. Okay, except in
the rare case where writing the email is triggered from something outside
your PC. ;)

Yes it does.
But No you can not always use it...

I had this problem in several folders, those where Recreate Index... is
available gets fixed.
But some folders does not have that option: drafts, inbox, sent... (the
standard ones)

The messages can not be moved either...
