I can confirm this behaviour with the OpenSuSE 11.2 packages.
If I click on another mail and thereafter to the first one, the mail is
displayed correctly in the preview pane.

Kontact starts up as usual when std.ics is removed. I accepted an appointment
via the zarafa groupware before. And obviously this was the reason for the
crash. I hope this is useful.
std.ics looks lite this:

seems to happen most often (exclusively? not sure...) with messages with

[Bug 205534] kmail The process for the pop3 protocol died unexpectedly.

I had the same problem as I updated from 4.2.x to 4.3.0.

Yesterday I updated from 4.3.0 to 4.4.0 and I have the same issue again.
Unfortunately I don't remember how I fixed the problem; could be that I
did something in the .kde/share/apps/kmail/ folder.

This happens for all my POP3 accounts (I have no IMAP accounts) and I get
one popup for each of them. Restart of KDE or kmail didn't fixed this failure.

There is no kio_pop3 in my process list (read from that in
http://lists.kde.org/?l=kdepim-usersm=124043386004619w=2 ).
I don't know how the kio_pop3 process is started, so I am not immediately able
to provide a bt or core dump.

I see a different behaviour. If I have both Amarok and Kontact as part of a
session that is restored and both ask for access to kwallet, kontact claims it
is already running. If only Kontact is restored it works as expected.

Application: kmail (1.13.0)
KDE Platform Version: 4.4.00 (KDE 4.4.0)
Qt Version: 4.6.1
Operating System: Linux 2.6.31-19-generic x86_64
Distribution: Ubuntu 9.10

-- Information about the crash:
If I suspend my computer while KMail is accessing one of my IMAP account, then
after the resume KMail fails to access the IMAPs accounts : it just displays
the blue loading screen undefinitely. On the bottom right, the list of ongoin
operations shows a stalled operation Checking XXX.

Today, I tried to cancell that operation, and KMail crashed.

A few more informations :
 - in previous occurences of this bug, I had closed KMail and it left me with a
kio_imap process using 100% of the CPU
 - I was at one place (and with a given IP) when I suspended my computer, and
at another place (with another IP) when I resumed it
 - I haven't tried with POP

[Bug 227516] New: changing sorting changes columns

2010-02-18 Thread Silver Salonen
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=227516

   Summary: changing sorting changes columns
   Product: kmail
   Version: 1.13.0
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS/Version: unspecified
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: silver.salo...@gmail.com

Version: 1.13.0 (using KDE 4.4.0)
Installed from:openSUSE RPMs

1) Click somewhere on message list headers
2) Select Sorting - By Date/Time ...

When I switch between any sorting, displayed columns are affected too. I have
manually selected both Sender and Receiver. On some sorting orders
Sender/Receiver is enabled. This appears to be quite random - it is
definitely not what I've chosen on this sorting order before, so it isn't it
like remembering profiles. In addition to it, columns' width is affected and
changed too.

[Bug 181404] KMail jumps to unread messages, despite opposite setting

I couldn't install Kubuntu 10.04 alpha2 so I upgraded my KDE SC 4.3 from
Kubuntu 9.10 backports repositories.

Same issue in Kmail 1.13.0 on KDE SC 4.4.00.

Behavior still present in Kmail 1.13.0 on KDE SC 4.4.00.

Tested with Kubuntu 9.10, KDE SC upgraded from backports PPA.

BTW, shouldn't kdepim-bugs@kde.org be CC'd on this?

[Bug 227527] New: Kmail Authorisation Dialogue Crash

2010-02-18 Thread Paul Crook
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=227527

   Summary: Kmail Authorisation Dialogue Crash
   Product: kmail
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Unlisted Binaries
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: paul_cr...@lineone.net

Application that crashed: kmail
Version of the application: 1.12.2
KDE Version: 4.3.2 (KDE 4.3.2)
Qt Version: 4.5.2
Operating System: Linux 2.6.31-15-generic i686
Distribution: Ubuntu 9.10

What I was doing when the application crashed:
Updated password on my IMAP account. Think I succesfully updated kmail
password but next time logged in it presented Authorisation Dialogue and what
ever I do (correct password, incorrect password, cancel) kmail segfaults with
signal 11 and I cannot read my mail.

This is repeatable everytime I try to open kmail. Rebooting doesn't solve
anything. Problem persitant for at least one week.

using (K)Ubuntu 9.10

I can see many similar reports on the kmail system which might be related bug
225086 for example and possible several other bugs that have been marked
duplicates of 184324 but no action. Some help would be appreciated.

[Bug 227527] Kmail Authorisation Dialogue Crash

--- Comment #1 from Paul Crook paul_crook lineone net 2010-02-18 15:42:32 ---
Resetting my password back to the original one didn't help.

Looking in kdewallet, under kmail, it appears the account is no longer listed.
Kmail however knows about it as it keeps asking for the password before
crashing.

All you have to do is kill the nepomukeserver

qdbus org.kde.NepomukServer /nepomukserver quit

and then run nepomuksever

My experience is all the output is fed to the term.

[Bug 227546] New: kmail processes html links incorrectly when receiving mail

2010-02-18 Thread Danny Auble
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=227546

Summary: kmail processes html links incorrectly when receiving
mail
   Product: kmail
   Version: 1.13.0
  Platform: unspecified
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: d...@llnl.gov

Version: 1.13.0 (using 4.4.00 (KDE 4.4.0), Kubuntu packages)
Compiler: cc
OS:Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.31-19-generic

When an email comes in with a '*' in the header it appears kmail now removes
the portion of the address behind the '*' up to the first / or : so for
instance, if the link 'http://*www.this.com' appears in an email message, when
hovered over or clicked will result in just 'http:' and nothing more. This is
new in kde 4.4.

At first I thought it might be the Replace smileys by emoticons but unchecking
that didn't seem to do anything. Emails are as expected with other email
clients.

[Bug 169702] Switching between multiple identities does not update signature when using Output of Command

--- Comment #6 from Stefano pietranera+kdebugs gmail com 2010-02-18 18:46:37
---
Hi,

I am using Debian testing/unstable (Squeeze/Sid) with KDE 4.3.4 and KMail
1.12.4.

I am using three (3) identities, two of them have a file as signature and the
third one - that is *not* the default one - has the output of a script
(basically it is fortune).

When I start a new email with the default identity, the right signature (from
file) appears, but when I switch to the identity whose signature is the command
output and switch back to one of the other two identities there is no mean to
obtain the right signatures.

It seems to me that the script execution breaks somehow the signature event.

I cannot say if this is a regression since I started to use this feature with
KMail 1.12.4.

Also, I believe that bugs 211492 and 226045 are a copy of this one.

Thank you.

I can confirm this same behaviour happens using Courier IMAP server. The 'v'
key and opening-message-in-another-window workarounds worked both. Disabling
the load attachments on demand fixed the issue.

I encountered this while setting up from scratch my KMail accounts. Hope a
bugfix is released soon

is there anything concrete to go on to be able forward on to mysql upstream
that foo and bar in 5.1.43 is broken? Or is it a matter of just being

[Bug 227582] New: kmail ignores disabled auto-line-break-settings (in menu-checkbox and global config)

2010-02-18 Thread H . H .

  Platform: unspecified
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED

KDE:KDE4:Factory:Desktop / openSUSE_11.2)
Compiler: gcc
OS:Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.31.5-0.1-desktop

to reproduce:

1)
- start composing a new mail
- disable linebreak in option menu in that composition window
- paste a real long link with --characters in it in mail-text
result: the link is line-wrapped

2)
same procedure and result with disabled linebreak after xx characters in global
kmail composer-settings

this is really annoying especially for trying to send links to other people,
which seems impossible at the moment.

[Bug 227270] cmake could not write new RPATH to akonadiserver

--- Comment #3 from Brad King brad king kitware com 2010-02-18 22:20:17 ---
Remove the library from the build tree and then do

  make VERBOSE=1

to see the actual link line for it. It should contain something like

-Wl,-rpath,/home/daniel/packs/KDE/kdesupport/build/lib:/home/daniel/packs/KDE/kdesupport/build/soprano/soprano:/usr/local/lib:

Verify that the trailing ':' appears in the actual link line.

At least one person has reported this issue with CMake before. He was using a
patched linker (/usr/bin/ld) that refused to put any empty-string RPATH entry
into binaries. Does your linker implement such a policy?

While this is good for security, CMake already ensures that the trailing ':'
does not end up in the install tree (which is why it refuses to install). At
one time CMake did not add the trailing colon. However, the RPATH field in ELF
binaries uses a string table entry that can be shared with other strings in the
binary (such as symbol names). When CMake re-writes it on installation it
could mangle the other strings because it overwrites the whole string table
entry. We added the trailing ':' to make collision with other strings unlikely
(symbols generally do not end in ':' and string literals are stored elsewhere).

By removing the trailing ':' the linker exposes the binary to the possibility
of mangled symbols after RPATH editing.

Sorry, my fault. I played around with the linker command to fix another
issue with a boot library. That was related to:

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=227275
http://www.cmake.org/Bug/view.php?id=10304

In the first link you see that the colon is there. For sure I accidentally
removed the colon. To verify, I let cmake link some targets again and
everywhere
the trailing colon was present and the RPATH_CHANGE during installation
succeeded.

24 Mb is a lot of space, maybe just not to you and your 1 user system with 1 Tb
hard drive, but what about workstation networks mounting $HOME from NFS and
limited space and quotas?

Why not make Nepomuk, Akonadi, Soprano, Redland etc. (all of the semantic
desktop thing) optional dependencies of KDE?

[Bug 227632] New: semantic desktop dependencies should be optional

2010-02-18 Thread alancio
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=227632

Summary: semantic desktop dependencies should be optional
   Product: Akonadi
   Version: 4.4
  Platform: Compiled Sources
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: vkra...@kde.org
ReportedBy: alan+kdeb...@mizrahi.com.ve
CC: kdepim-bugs@kde.org

Version:(using KDE 4.4.0)
OS:Linux
Installed from:Compiled From Sources

Some people couldn't care less about the semantic desktop thing.
Why? Each of us have different reasons:
- Don't need it
- Using mlocate/slocate/find/grep instead
- Don't want the complexity of it
etc, etc, etc.

I'm not saying semantic desktop is useless, its just not for everybody.

I would like it if it was completely optional. I would like to be able to
install, for example, kdepim, without going through soprano, akonadi, redland,
rasqal, raptor, mysql, virtuoso, libiodbc, etc.

I'm just never going to use it, so why waste hard drive, cpu cycles, and some
hair with it?
